A trying year, but also a successful year, is about to end. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your solidarity, your support and for your faithful cooperation.
A merry Christmas and the very best wishes, good health, luck and success for you-my friends, clients and equestrian friends- for the New Year.
I'm looking forward to welcome you at my stable in 2010!
All the best,
Holger Hetzel and team
The contemplative Christmas time and the upcoming turn of the year makes us thoughtful and reflective. The Team Holger Hetzel looks back to a very successful year 2010, which was shaped by several moments of success and happiness.
Wellington, München, Humlikon, San Giovanni
My horses for the Big Tour presented themselves very good on the international shows during this season. Placements in big classes during the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington (USA), in the Championat of Munich, as well as in the Grand Prix of Roggel, Pforzheim, Humlikon and Oldenburg are making me happy and satisfied. With several victories and placements in classes for young horses and in the international Youngster Tour the young horses gave proof of our good education and that we have chosen the right way of training.

Chritine Dorenkamp successful
Christine Dorenkamp, first rider in my stable, has had a great season 2010. Main focus was put on the “European Youngster Cup”, where talents between 16 and 25 years old have the chance to compete on international renowned shows. Christine and her four-legged partner Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were placed during international shows like Munich, Nörten- Hardenberg, Lamprechtshausen and Gera with brilliant rounds. But not only that, During the CSI*** Donaueschingen the young Amazon won the final class of the EY-Cup. Last weekend she became seventh in the “Silver Final” at the Frankfurt horseshow. Christine’s season has had more higlights: At the Renish Championships the 23-year old talent competed for the first time in the age-classes of the seniors and ended up in fifth position. Also at the German Championships in Münster she showed a great performance and attracted attention with her stylistic rounds. World Ranking Points have been collected in Wiener-Neustadt, where Christine and Toubillon got the fourth rank in the Grand Prix!
Apprentice Katrin Eckermann European Young Rider Champion
This past season 2010, my apprentice Katrin Eckermann was also peppered with several highlights: In her age class „Young Rider“ Katrin and her gelding Carlson collected almost all medals possible to win. The highly talented 20-year old won at the “Preis der Besten” in Warendorf, got the gold medal at the Renish Championships, became first in the final class of the German Championships, during the European Championships in Jardy (FRA) Katrin got the team gold medal and individual silver and at the end of the year the courageous rider became “Indoor Champion” at the Salut Festival in Aachen. Also on the international scene of the elite riders my apprentice attracted attention with her excellent rounds, one example of this was last weekend when she finished second in the Championat of Frankfurt (CSI****).
Laura and Dancing Dream
The offspring makes big steps!
Besides the wonderful results of my team I’m very happy about the success of my daughter. Laura has made an enormous development and was able to win her firs A-class with her pony Dancing Dream. This is a moment that makes me unbelievable proud as a father!
The junior and young riders of the Rhineland are also on the right way for being successful. Unfortunately they haven’t had so much luck during the German Championships but I’m confident that they can win a lot next year. With Stefanie Reining, Katrin Eckermann and Andreas Kreuzer three Rhenish Riders were involved in the medal-winning team at the European Championships in Jardy.
During the „Nachwuchschampionat“ within the Rhenish Championships in Langenfeld it became apparent that we have several very talented youngsters in the sport. This is why I’m looking forward to do my job as the “Rhenish Landestrainer of the junior and young rider” in 2011.
Denis Lynch bought Wolkenkratzer
6. Sport Horse Sales
The explicit highlight and the main focus of our whole year planning was again my Sport Horse Sales. In this sixth edition 17 high quality jumping horses changed their owners for a total of 1.4 million Euros.
The most expensive horse was Wolkenkratzer, a seven years old son of Marlon. He was bought by “Rider of the year” Denis Lynch and I’m sure we will hear a lot about this pair in the future.
The Argentinean football star Hernan Crespo bought a horse for his wife Alessia Rossi. Chris Kappler, gold medal winner with the US-Team during the Olympic Games 2004 and individual silver-medal winner, purchased the five year old mare Polly Pocket for 150.000€. We also got the attendance from many amateur riders who where really exited to find their sport partner for the future.
600 interested guests came to my stable to attend the exclusive event live and I’m really looking forward to receive them again with another selection of high quality young horses next year.

Exceptional results for former auction horses
I’m proud to announce that former auction horses and also several other horses sold by my stable competed successfully at National and International shows for young horses, Championships and Grand Prix, all around the globe in 2010. Imperial Zig Zag and Clarissa Crotta won during the CSI Chantilly, Milky Way under my ride became first at the CSI Nörten Hardenberg, Last Minute and Pascale Pfeiffer got the first rank in Vejer de la Frontera and Lummen, Quantas and Giovanni Lucchetti triumphed in Manerbio and Radio City won under Georgina Bloomberg at the CSI Spruce Meadows. Also this year four Horses that changed ownership at Former Auctions showed spectacular results during the 2010 World Championship for Young horses at Lanaken.I can’t be more proud about these brilliant results!
Pia-Marie Schröder and Timberland
Students fit for 2011My students developed also very well. For example Pia-Marie Schröder who won the most important class for Rhenish junior riders during the Salut-Festival in Aachen two weeks ago. In the final she scored 8.5 for her style giving her the title. A special fact is her four legged partner Timberland- Pia-Marie’s parents bought the seven years old at the Auction 2009 and since that moment the young pair has made a great development which was rewarded with victories in International Amateur classes on international CSI-Shows. Beside Pia-Marie my other students have had also great success, which confirms my team and I in our work. In my opinion sensible training and the exercise of the basics for the young riders is a very important for achieving an international top-level.
Team Holger Hetzel
This was 2010…
It is certain that this year wouldn’t have been so successful without the faithful cooperation from our numerous satisfied clients. But- to keep in mind- also the team around me is indispensable and the basis for every positive result: for the unproblematic processing of the daily work, the presentation of the horses on national and international shows and the successful sale.
The CSI**** Frankfurt is the last show before Christmas and it’s a quite nice show: exciting classes with all elite riders, a wonderful atmosphere and Christmas decoration everywhere.
Unfortunately I haven’t had so much luck during the show. The horses jumped pretty well, but individual jumping faults avoided placements. In a group class on Saturday night Little Tinka was clear but in this class the time avoided the participation in the winning round. Argh…
Christine competed in the final classes of the European Youngster Cup. During the season 2010 she and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were placed several times in this serial, in Donaueschingen the pair won a class with a brilliant round. In Frankfurt Christine and her four legged partner became seventh in the Silver Final.
My apprentice Katrin Eckermann was also allowed to compete during this four star show in Frankfurt- and deservedly so. The young rider saddled her gelding Carlson in the „Championat von Frankfurt“, a quite difficult 1.50m class. They showed a brilliant performance and were clear in the first round. Also in the jump-off the talented girl presented an excellent courageously round and was clear again. Katrin and Carlson became second in this class- what a great success!
Carolin Becker rode the international Amateur classes with her two horses. With Loreen she became second and in the saddle of Mr. Pommeroy Carolin finished sixth and seventh.
Frankfurt was the last show for me and my team in 2010. Now we will have some relaxed Christmas days…
Pia-Marie Schröder and Timberland
At the weekend Pia-Marie Schröder and her gelding Timberland have had their biggest success. During the “Salut-Festival” the pair won a M*-style-class with a score of 8.5. This class was a qualification for the “Bundesnachwuchschampionat 2011“. In the other M* class the young rider and the son of Numero Uno became seventh.
Since the auction 2009 Pia-Marie and the seven year old gelding are a pair. Until now, they showed a great development and earned a lot of prices during the season.
Katrin and Carlson
My apprentice Katrin had also great success during the great show in Aachen. The was placed with both Carlson and Loriot in the opening class. In an other S*-class the young rider became second with Loriot and was also placed in a S**-class. With Carlson under the saddle my apprentice was clear in both rounds of the team class and finished third in the Grand Prix for young rider. All in all Katrin was the most successful young rider during the “Salut Festival”, this is why she became rewarded with the title of the HKM-indoor-champion.
Quantas (by Quidam's Rubin)
This week we got great news from Italy:Quantas (Auction horse 2009 “Benneton”) and his rider Giovanni Lucchetti were placed in a 1.30m and 1.40m class during the CSI* Manerbio. The seven year old gelding showed brilliant clear roundsYoung rider Elvezia Pappone was placed with Altenbach and Cyprianus during the international show- Sara Pappone, Italian junior rider, and District were placed in the difficult qualification for the Grand Prix. The pair was clear in the first round and jump-off!
Under the topic"Sport horse sales 2010"- "News around the sport horse sales" you can find some impressions from the auction-evening!
My sixth sport horse sales in over, the first horses leaved and again I got great news from former (auction)horses:
- Quantas (auction horse 2009 “Benneton”) and Giovanni Lucchetti performed very well in San Lazzaro di Savana (ITA). The seven year old high talented gelding became third in a 1.35m class and got the fourth rank in a 1.40m class with jump off. In a very big 1.45m class Quantas was clear twice and finished fourth.
- Enrico (Auction horse 2007) and his young rider Ricarda Kersjes were placed in a S*-class and became second in a S* class with winning round.
- Olympic and Marie-Theres von Fürstenberg got the fifth rank in a S*-class.
On Friday the TV showed a very nice report about the auction. Unfortenately it is only in German, but have a look:
Click here to have a look to the report.
Click then on the button "Springpferde-Auktion".
The sixth sport horse sales of Holger Hetzel was a great success. All 17 youngsters have found a new owner and were sold for 1.44 Million Euro in total. The average price was 84.705 €- this means it was the most successful auction till now, because last year the average price was 80.000€. The most expensive horse was the seven year old gelding Wolkenkratzer, who was bought by “Rider of the Year” Denis Lynch (IRL) for 240.000€.
600 guests visited the excellent organised auction. Beside the very interested persons there were some famous faces our of the international rider-circuit, amongst others: Janne-Frederike Meyer (Gold-medal winner during the WEG 2010 with the team), Chris Kappler (USA, silver medallist at Olympic Games), Ian Miller (CAN, medallist at Olympic Games), Gianni Govoni (ITA, successful rider) and Alessia Rossi (ITA, wife of footballstar Hernan Crespo), who bought two horses.
Furthermore the German TV- performer Claudelle Deckert visited the event to receive a cheque for the foundation UNESCO- “Education for Children in Need”. A promising foal with a brilliant pedigree was auctioned for 7.500,00€. Holger Hetzel increased the sum up to 10.000,00€ for a good deed- a great success.
Before the real auction starts on November 24th in Goch, Holger Hetzel will make a special auction- a good deed for the heart! A promising foal with a brilliant pedigree (Contendro x Waitaki) will be auctioned for the foundation UNESCO- “Education for Children in Need”. The money in it’s totality will be donated to the foundation, which has been standing up for poor children since 1992, providing them with school and vocational education for a brighter future.
The check will be received by the German TV-Star Claudelle Deckert. She is only one of the prominent guests who will follow the event live in Goch. All interested people are welcome to visit this exclusive event, which is characterized by the pleasant atmosphere, professional organisation and exceptional horses.
The collection presents strongly selected horses aged four to seven with impressive jumping qualities and perfect characteristics for the sport. According to their ages the youngsters have already proven their capabilities with many successes in classes for young horses.
Tomorrow, on Sunday, November 21th 2010 an official presentation of all auction horses will take place in a pleasant atmosphere. In case you have found a favourite you are welcome to try out the horse(s) on this day. For any other dates please make your personal appointment (+49-(0)171 480 8668). On Wednesday, November 24th 2010 a last presentation of the auction lot will take place at 5 p.m. and at 9 p.m. the auction begins.
Top Gun (auction horse 2009 „Arrival“) and Anna Gkouskova were placed fifth in an international amateur class during the CSI Oldenburg.
Imperial Zig Zag (auction horse 2009) and Team-European-Champion Clarissa Crotta have had great success in Poland at the CSI Leszno- they were placed several times in classes for young horses.
In Italy Sara and Elvezia Pappone got several placementsat the international show in Tortona. Elvezia was able to place all three horses: Likido was placed in a 1.30m class, Altenbach in a 1.40m class and with Cyprianus the young rider was placed three times in 1.30 and 1.35m classes. Sara and Coldplay (Auction horse 2007) got a placement in a 1.30m class.
Last weekend I competed at the show on Oldenburg. My horses jumped very well during the show, but unfortunately I was not able to place them. Beside in the Grand Prix: Little Tinka showed a great performance, was fighting during the course and was clear. But…. We had one time fault (only 0,19 seconds!!!), so we were not allowed to start in the jump-off. Finally we became seventh in this class.
Pia Marie Schröder rode the international amateur classes in Oldenburg and finished second and third with Gladis. With Timberland the junior rider was placed in a 1.30m class.
Two weeks to go… Then my sixth sport horse sales will take place. The quality of the 20 auction horses is brilliant and they confirm it every day. The daily work is exciting and it is great to see how the horses are developing during the work. The horses are fit, my team and me are very motivated and next week the tent and so on will build up- I’m looking forward to the 24th November!
Again my daughter Laura and her pony „Dancing Dream“ have been victorious on a show. The pair won two classes and can be very proud of their performances. Laura got a score of 8.2 in the style class and became the golden tie. In her first A-class Laura showed again a great round with a perfect style and won with an 8.0. Laura, I’m proud of you!
During the international show in San Lazarro di Savena Sara and Elvezia Pappone have been very successful. Elvezia was placed with Cyprianus and Altenbach in 1.35m classes. Sara was placed twice with Curtis in a 1.30m class. The seven year old gelding Coldplay was also placed in this class. With District under her saddle the young Amazon became sixth and eleventh in a 1.35m class. In the CSI Grand Prix for junior rider Sara and District finished ninth.
Laura and Dancing Dream
Last weekend my daughter Laura and her pony Dancing Dream ("Danny") have had their first indoor show. Laura and Danny did a great job and showed that they don't have a problem with the difference between outdoor and indoor shows.
They pair won the style class with a score of 7.6 and became second in a Springprüfung Klasse E. Well done, Laura!
Imperial Zig Zag sportfot.com

- Catch Me and Marie-Theres Leuchten won also a L-class
Wow… I visited a lot national and international show grounds during my career, but I have almost never seen such a great place like San Giovanni. The show ground was brilliant: All horses had big and light boxes, were stabled very noble. The indoor was very large and light. It was a great show, but nevertheless a lot of rider decided to compete at the show, so in every class 80 competitors tried to win.
I competed with Romualdo and Lanzarote. Romualdo was clear in a 1.45m class. Lanzarote was clear in a 1.40m class on Friday. In the Grand Prix I also decided to saddle Lanzarote. He was clear in the first round of the 1.50m class and jumped fantastically well. In the jump-off something changed, but I don’t know really the reason. The gelding didn’t jumped that well, so I gave up.
Christine and Milky Way convinced in every round of the Youngster Tour- the seven year old was clear and placed. With Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek Christine showed also very nice rounds but unfortunately they were not able to qualify for the Grand Prix.
The open air season is finished and now we did the first indoor schow. The four days at the CSI Wiener Neustadt were good, but it is really a difference to outside shows: The jumps follow very soon and it is loud in the hall.
Milky Way showed that he is already an experienced horse- at his first indoor show after several months he jumped again brilliant and was clear in both classes of the youngster tour for seven year old horses. Romualdo became fourth in a class of the big tour. Lanzarote was placed in a class of the medium tour and in the Grand Prix we unfortunately had one down. But the gelding felt pretty well and jumped very easily…
The Grand Prix was a “magic moment” for Christine- she rode Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek on a perfect manner and was clear in the first round. In the jump-off Christine rode again brilliant and Tourbillon crusade for his young rider. The pair were again clear and became fourth in this difficult class. Already one day before the 13 year old gelding and his rider were clear twice in a class of the big tour and finished ninth. What a great success! Furthermore Christine was placed seventh in an international class with Little Tinka.
Chiara by sportfot.com
Former (auction) horses of my stable were again very successful:
During the World championships for young horses in Lanaken four former auction horses competed successfully: Imperial Zig Zag with Clarissa Crotta and Top Gun (Auction horse 2009 Arrival) showed nice rounds in the qualifications. Chiarra (Auction horse 2007 “Cortina”) became third in the small final of seven year old horses under the saddle of Mark Martens. Carino was qualified for the final of the 30th best seven year old jumping horses all over the world.
Sara and Elvezia Pappone were successful at the Amazon-Championships in Italy. Sara became fifth in a 1,25m class with Curtis and won a 1,30m class with the gelding. With Coldplay Sara became second and third in a 1,35m class. In a 1,40m class with jump-off Sara saddled the horse District and won silver. Her sister Elvezia was placed with Likido.
Also the following results confirm me and my team in our work:
- Quantas (Auction horse 2009 „Benetton“) and Giovanni Luchetti (ITA) became second in a 1,40m class with jump-off in San Giovanni (ITA)
- Lagun (Auction horse 2007 „Lagunas) and Annabella Pezzoli (ITA) finished third in a 1,35m class with jump-off
- Enrico (Auction horse 2007) was clear in the first round and the jump-off of a 1,40m class. The seven year old gelding and his young rider Ricarda Kerjes won this class at the show in Issum! In a 1,30m class the pair became fifth. Congratulations, what a great success!
- Carino (Auction horse 2008 „Prince Charming“) competed at the first indoor show in Rulle. The stallion and Mario Stevens became third and tenth in a 1,35m class of the Youngster Tour. In the final, a 1,40m class with jump-off, the pair got the second rank.
- Imperial Zig Zag (Auction horse 2009) and Clarissa Crotta were placed in a 1,35m class in Rulle
- Radio City(Auction horse 2006) and Georgina Bloomberg (USA) were placed at the Bosten Jumper Classics
- Quinn and Sarah Segal (USA) became third in a Welcome class during the Boston Jumper Classics
- Tilghman (Auction horse 2008) and Sarah Segal were also placed in a welcome- class of the Boston Jumper Classics
- Olympic, ridden by Marie-Theres von Fürstenberg, finished fifth in a 1,35m class
Laura and Dancing Dream
Last weekend the „district championships“ took place at Bedburg Hau, only 10 minutes away from my stable.
Pia Marie Schröder was placed in a L- class with her gelding Timberland (v. Numero Uno). Caro Becker and Loreen were placed in a L- class with jump-off and Daniel was able to place Wendy (by Omar) in an M* class with jump-off.
My daughter Laura had a great weekend: At first she competed with her pony Dancing Dream in an style class and became second with a score of 7.5.
Then she was a member of the team for the youngster Championships in the district. It was Laura’s first class within a team and she did a really great job. All three team members were clear in the first round (they were only three rider, so no result were cancelled). One of the team had to ride the jump-off and the decision was that Laura and her Danny has to do this important round. The ten year old girl and her pony showed an excellent and very fast round and they won! So my daughter is the “district-master” of “Kreis Kleve”- she did a great job and I’m very proud of her!
Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were vict www.eycup.eu
The CSI Donaueschingen was our last outside show this year and we were very successful. I rode Milky Way (by Heartbreaker) in the youngster tour and he became fifth in a 1.40m class. Holiday (by Corrado I) was also placed in a 1.40m class. Lanzarote was clear twice in a 1.50m class with jump-off and finished fifth. He jumped really great and I’m really satisfied with his performance.
My apprentice Katrin competed also at the international show and was smiling the whole time. With Desperanco the young rider was placed in a 1.40m class and with her four-legged partner Carlson she finished fourth in a 1.50m class with jump-off. So she was also able to earn world-ranking list points- what a great success!
The “winner” of the weekend was Christine. She was the only rider with a clear round in the first round as well as the jump-off in the final of the European Youngster Cup (1.45m) and won the class. Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek (by Sit this one out) and Christine showed really great rounds and are definitely qualified for the final of the Young Masters League during the international show in Frankfurt in December.
I’m very proud of the great performances of Katrin and Christine!
Daniel were at the show in Issum to show the young horses in a Springpferdeprüfung Kl. L. He was able to place all three horses: Armani (by Alpaschino) became second with a 8.1, Valentin (by Voltaire) finished fourth and Celline (by Continue) was also placed.
Romualdo jumped very well © Thomas Hutter
The Maurice Lacroix CSI*** Humlikon is a fantastic show in Switzerland. The show ground was good, the atmosphere super, the weather nice and the horses performed really well.
I saddled Lanzarote in the small tour and he jumped really well and easy all weekend.
Romualdo jumped superb. The first day I rode him in a 1.30m class to give him the possible build-up for the show. Already during the first round he felt fantastic, was clear and placed. The other days he competed in the big tour and he convinced all along the line. In a 1.50m class he was clear and finished eighth- from 67 horses.
In the Grand Prix he was clear again and showed his possibilities and scope. In the jump-off I wanted to go fast and close turns. It worked very well but nevertheless we had one stupid fault. So we became tenth in the Grand Prix of Humlikon.
It was a nice atmosphere in Humlikon © Thomas Hutter
Christine and the seven year old Milky Way competed in the small tour. The young gelding presented himself on a fantastic manner and was placed because of faultless rounds.
The performance of Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek is undescriable- meanwhile they are an established pair on international shows. They started in the Medium Tour and showed concentrated, confident and clear rounds in every course. They were placed in a 1.40m and 1.45m class. In the final of the Tour they were clear again, became ninth and got some points for the World Ranking List.
Next weekend we will compete at the CSI Donaueschingen. This will be the last outdoor show this year.

Wendy was successful again © Thomas Koppers
Daniel competed at the show in Hamminkeln Brünen. On Firday he showed young horses and was very successful: Celline (by Continue) became fourth in a Springpferde L and was placed in the Springpferde M. This six year old mare has a brilliant technique and a lot of scope, I’m sure she is a horse for the future. Also Valentin (by Voltaire) was able to confince the judge: In the Springpferde L he finished second and in the Springpferde M he got the third rank with the score 8.1. Futhermore the beautiful gelding became third in a M* class on Saturday.
Wendy (by Omar) was also ridden by Daniel and they became fifth in a M* class.

Pokerface (auction horse 2009, by Couleur Rubin) and David Will were placed in the Youngster Class at the CSI Roggel.
Holiday and me
The first day at Roggel (NED) was already a great success and the other days were also pretty good:
- Holiday (by Corrado I) was clear in an international class
- Celline (by Continue) performed very well and was clear in the Youngster Tour
- Romualdo (by Kojak) became sixth in the Grand Prix (CSI**)
- Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were placed in a 1.40m class with jump-off and were clear in the first round of the Grand Prix. In the jump-off they unfortunately had one down.
- Pia Marie Schröder and Timberland (by Numero Uno) finished fourth in an intern. 1.30m class
This weekend we compete at the CSI** Roggel in the Netherlands. The first day was a fantastic day: all horses performed very well and showed great rounds.
I was able to place Holiday (by Corrado I) in the opening class with a clear round. In the Youngster Tour two former auction horses got great results and were clear: Milky Way(by Heartbreaker), ridden by Christine, showed all his quality and became sixth in this class. Pokerface (by Couleur Rubin) and David Will finished second. A great success, because there were 82 horses in this class.
The first qualification of the Grand Prix was a 1.40m class. Romualdo (by Kojak) jumped pretty well, was clear and placed. Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were also very good, but unfortunately they had one fault.
Pia-Marie Schröder and Timberland (by Numero Uno) are also in the neighbouring country to compete in the Invitation class- a fifth place was their result.
Last weekend Christine had a great event- the German Championships of the Amazons in Münster. It was her first Championship in the senior- classes, but she and her partner Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek managed it on a brilliant way. In the first class (S**) they showed a great performance and finished the difficult course as a matter of the course- only ¼ penalties for the time.
Only 10 of the 60 pairs were clear in the first class, so Christine and Tourbillon qualified for the final on Saturday. The final was a S***- class with two rounds, the course was difficult and the fences high. In the first round they had one down and some time-penalties. In the second round three poles fall down. What a pity… But nevertheless the pair had a great debut at their first big Championships and showed respectable, stylistic rounds.
Katrin and Carlson
My apprentice Katrin and her gelding Carlson competed at the German Championships for Juniors and Young Rider in Aachen.
The first qualification (S**- speed class) they finished eleventh. In the second class on Saturday the young pair had one fault. Yesterday in the final (S**- class with two rounds) they showed an ambitious, high concentrated performance. It rained a lot, but Katrin and her gelding were in a top-form and had only one fault in the first round. They won the difficult class and became fourth in the Championship-evaluation. Nevertheless my apprentice didn’t won a medal, but she and her gelding did again a great job. Katrin can be proud of herself; she has had a great season toll now!
Daniel had a very short arrival to the show- he competed in Goch-Asperden, just 5 minutes away from my stable. He showed some young horses in youngster classes and got several placements.
The five year old stallion Asvegas (by Lupicor) got the second rank in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse A and was placed in the L-class.
Bakela, five year old daughter of Balou du Rouet finished third in a Springpferde A.
The athletic built mare Celline (by Continue) won the Springpferdeprüfung L. In the M- class the talented mare became third.
This weekend Christine and Katrin will have big events: Christine will compete at the German Championships in Münster and Katrin will start at the German Championships for Young Riders in Aachen... We will cross the fingers!

Daniel and the 8-year old gelding Lysco (Lycos x Karnaval)competed at the show in Kaarst- Holzbüttgen. In a L- class they finished fourth. In the M*- class with winning round they showed two very nice, clear rounds and became first.
Student Pia- Marie Schröder was also victorious at this show: With Gladis under her saddle the young Amazon won a L style class with the brilliant score of 8.5. In an A**- class Pia- Marie became fifth with the mare. Timberland (by Numero Uno) performance well again- he became third in a L- and sixth in a M*- class. In another M*- class with jump-off the young pair finished second with two clear rounds.
Caro Becker and Loreen had also success: They were placed twice in a L class.
Canturana B (auction horse 2009 “Black Pearl) and her rider and owner Dr. Sven Heitkemper were placed in a M*- class at the show in Waltrop.
Olympic (by Orville) and Marie-Theres von Fürstenberg had their biggest success till now: they got the second rank in a S* class with jump-off. Congratulations!
In Nettetal- Lobberich we saw the mare Canturana B, auction horse in 2009 („Black Pearl). The mare and her owner and rider Dr. Sven Heitkemper showed really nice rounds in the youngster classes. The mare has made a very positive development and I’m very happy to see that.
Jordan was- like already in the last weeks- very successful. The nine- year old gelding was placed in a M**- class and also in a S*- class with jump-off.
Katrin competed in Elmlohe and was placed several times. The highlight was the eighth place with Carlson in the Grand Prix, a S***- class with jump-off.
Last weekend we competed at the show in Nettetal- Lobberich. At the first day we showed the young horses in the Springpferdeprüfungen and all horses performed really well and got several plaecements.
The five year old mare Bakela (by Balou du Rouet) got a second place in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse A. Asvegas , five year old stallion by Lupicor, became third in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse M, also ridden by Daniel.
I was able to place Celline (by Continue) in a Springpferde L. Kleiner Onkel performed really well again and won a Springpferdeprüfung Kl. L. The beautiful stallion was also clear and placed in a M* class- it is always fun to present the horse on shows, he jumps so easy and has a great rideability.
Milky Way and Christine were placed in a M** and finished fourth in a S* class with jump- off. The seven year old jumped really excellent, especially in the difficult S*- class.
The biggest success had Romualdo (by Kojak). He jumped pretty well in the S** class on Saturday and became third. On Sunday I saddled him in the Grand Prix, a S***- class with jump-off. He gave me again a super feeling and was clear in the first round. In the jump-off we started as the last pair and I really wanted to underbid the –so far- fastest time. In front of the last fence Romualdo slowed down a little bit but finally we had the fastest time and won the class. What a great day!
Imperial Zig Zag and Clarissa Crotta (SUI)
Imperial Zig Zag, bought by Clarissa Crotta on the auction 2009, had great success at the CSI***** Chantilly (FRA). The stallion by Kojak won a class for 6- year old horses and became third in the second qualification. In the final Clarissa and the beautiful sportsman got the seventh rank.
Radio City(by Liatos) and Georgina Bloomberg (USA) won the “Wolseley Cup” (1.45m class with jump-off) in Spruce Meadows (CAN).
The 8- year old gelding Blaton and Frederik Knorren competed at the CSI Gera. They were placed several times in 1.35 and 1.40m classes.
Double Dutch and Stepahnie Schuepbach (USA) got also some placements in Gera.
My apprentice Katrin and the talented six-year old mare Celline (by Continue) finished third in a M* class at the “Schlossparkturnier” in Wickrath.
During the last two weeks we competed at the „Gera Summer Meeting“. Because of the ideal facilities, super organisation and a lot of classes for all demands it was possible to combine training and riding on a show on a perfect manner. Beside good results it was important that the young horses and my students gain more and more experience.
I was able to place Romualdo (by Kojak) in a 1.40m class of the CSI*** Gold Tour. In an other 1.45m class the stallion was also clear, but unfortunately not placed. Kleiner Onkel (by Heartbreaker) was placed in a class for 6- year old horses. Yesterday in the Grand Prix I saddled Lanzarote. Only five of the 57 competitors reached the jump- off of the diccidult 1.55m course. Lanzarote and me were also clear in the first round. In the jump-off we had one fault and finished fourth. Lars Nieverg and Levito won the big class.
Christine and Tourbillon were successful © www.eycup.eu
Christine had a great weekend. She saddled Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek in the European Youngster Cup (U25) and was clear in all five classes. In the first qualification the pair was placed. In the second qualification (1.40m class with jump-off) they showed two very nice rounds and became third. In the final (1.45m with jump-off) Christine and her four- legged partner were again clear and finished third again.
Christine was also able to place Milky Way (by Heartbreaker) in a class for 7- year old horses.
My student Pia-Marie Schröder was also laughing during the trip back to home. Last weekend she got already six placements and this weekend she was also very successful: She was placed with Gladis and Timberland (by Numero Uno) in international classes and yesterday the young girl won an intern. M* class with Timberland under her saddle.
The date of the 6th edition of my exclusive sport horse sales has been determined: On Wednesday, 24. November 2010 several youngsters with exceptional qualities will change their owners at the years’ event here in Goch.
The collection of the auction horses will be publicized on my website at the beginning of October.
Save the date by now and look forward to the interesting selection of the auction horses 2010!
Since one week my team, students and me are on the international show in Gera, the “Gera Summer Meeting”.
Every Wednesdays until Sundays the sporting program runs which gives the possibility for professionals and amateurs, trainers and students to combine competition sport and training equally- all under perfect circumstances.
Besides that the city Gera and the tourism association offered a carefully chosen supporting program with lots of possibilities to visit the theatre, the cinema or to make excursions- so when you are not sitting on a horse- it won’t be boring!
Last weekend a CSI* took place. I was able to place the mare Taloubet (by Baloubet du Rouet) in a 1.40 m class. Romualdo (by Kojak) was clear in a 1.40 m class and had one fault in the Grand Prix on Sunday.
During the hot weekend Christine and Milky Way (by Heartbreaker) were placed in the Youngster Tour.
Caro Becker and Pia-Marie Schröder gain more and more experiences by riding a lot of classes and be trained on a show. Pia- Marie was placed six times and showed very nice rounds. With Gladis she was placed three times and with Timberland (by Numero Uno) under her saddle she became second and twice fourth in an international M*- class. Caro was placed with Loreen and Rosenloh in the M*- class.
It sounds like a dream… On Friday my apprentice Katrin won the gold medal with the team at the European Championships in Jardy. On Sunday the 30th best riders competed in the final (all in all there were 73 riders out of 20 nations). Katrin and her gelding Carlson had only 2.27 faults and were placed third before the final-so they had a realistic opportunity to win a medal in the individual ranking. In the final the young pair showed again a perfect performance and had only one time penalty in the two very difficult rounds, what means they had only 3.72 faults in five rounds and won the silver medal!!!
I’m very proud of my apprentice, who has a very stylistic and sensitive riding style. Congratulations, Katrin!
Katrin and Carlson
Today my apprentice Katrin won the gold medal at the European Championships with the German squad in Jardy (FRA).
Katrin and her gelding Carlson were already clear in the first class yesterday. Today they showed again a brilliant performance and had only one time-penalty in the two difficult rounds.
Also her team members did a great job, so they won the gold medal with only 5 faults. Sweden became second with 12 faults; bronze was won by The Netherlands.
All in all Katrin and Carlson have only 2.72 “faults” after three rounds, so they have great conditions for the final of the individuals.
Congratulations for the gold medal, we will keep the fingers crossed for the individual Championships on Sunday!

Katrin and Celline (by Continue) got the second rank in a M*- class, so they are allowed to compete at the Federal Championships for young horses in Warendorf.
Christine and I were in Geesteren (NED), to compete at the CSI Twente. Unfortunately we haven’t had so much luck during the hot weekend.
Next weekend there are some highlights: I will go to Gera for two weeks to compete at the “Gera Summer Meeting” with some horses and my students. Katrin is in Jardy to participate at the European Championships, so we have to cross the fingers for her!
Cederic and Lisa Mayleen Thoma © Manfred Reketat
Cederic (by Concorde), auction horse 2007, and Lisa- Mayleen Thoma were placed in a S*- class during the Westphalia Championships in Steinhagen.
Blaton (by Boritas) was placed in a S** and a S*** class- both with jump-off- with Frederik Knorren in his saddle.
Enrico (by Escudo I) and Ricarda Kersjes competed successful and became seventh in a M*- class.
Ridden by Stephanie Schuepbach Double Dutch was victorious at the international show in Gera. The gelding won a 1.40 class and an other international class. Furthermore the pair became fifth in a 1.40m class.
Christine and Tourbillon vd Zuidhoek © PSVR.de
High class sport, an nice fair, almost unbearable heat, interesting framework programme, the WC-football game of the Germans and a thunder-storm on Saturday- that were the Rhenish Championships 2010 in Langenfeld.
Christine and Katrin tried to win medals and I followed my job as the “Landestrainer” of the junior and young rider.
It was the first time that Christine competed at championships of the elderly class. She saddled Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek and inspired with very competent rounds. In the first class (S*) they had one time- penalty. The second class (S**) Christine and the 14- year old gelding finished with one -very stupid and needless- fault at the last fence. The final on Sunday was am S***- class with two rounds- the first time in the history of the Rhenish Championships. In the first round the pair had one down, but they had a clear round in the second course- brilliant! Because of the unnecessary faults Christine became fifth in the overall-standing, but nevertheless she can be very satisfied.
Katrin and Carlson © PSVR.de
Katrin and her four-legged partner Carlson competed at the Championship of the Young Rider and they had a unchallenged win. They won the first class (S*) as well as the final (S**- class with two rounds)- the second class failed because of the bad weather. Katrin and Carlson won without a fault the overall standing and demonstrated again their exceptional form.
I’m absolutely impressed by the way of riding of Christine and Katrin. They showed amazing rounds, a perfect style and absolutely effective riding- it was a demonstration of show jumping and I’m very proud of it.
In Langenfeld Katrin competed not only with Carlson, but also with a horse out of my stable: Celline, a six- year old mare by Continue. In the first class, a M* class for 6- year old horses, Katrin and the mare were clear and showed a very nice round. The second class was a qualification for the Federal Championships for young horses in September. The jury gave the young pair a score of 8.0 so that Celline is allowed to compete at the big event in Warendorf, a highlight for young horses!
Pia-Marie und Timberland © Koppers
During the Rhenish Championships Pia Marie Schröder and her Timberland (by Numero Uno) competed at the „Nachwuchschampionat“. In a L- class (style) they got a score of 7.9 and finished fourth. In the M* class the young pair had one fault. Carolin Becker and Lecorde finished the L- class ninth with a score of 7.5.
Daniel competed in Viersen Dülken and won with Asvegas (by Lupicor) a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse L.

Katrin and Carlson
A few weeks ago my apprentice Katrin fall from a horse during an international show in Moorsele (BEL) and broke her collarbone. Of course she was very disappointed, not only because of her season planning, but especially regarding her participation at the European Championships. This was her personal aim for this year.
But Katrin had a very good medical treatment and a high will. This is why she was able to sit in the saddle of her gelding Carlson two weeks ago. Last weekend Katrin competed the first time after her accident at the international Youngsterfestival in Hagen a.T.W. and showed very, very good courses. In the Nations Cup Katrin and her Carlson were clear in the first round and had only one fault in the second round. But this is not the only reason for being happy- she is also nominated for the European Championships in July! Super, Katrin, we will cross the fingers!
Last weekend I competed at the CSI*** Pforzheim. It is a very nice show- it is well organised, very good circumstances for rider, horses and grooms, a lot of commitment shown by the organisers and a great atmosphere.
I’m very proud and impressed of the seven year old Milky Way. The gelding performed absolutely well and didn’t made a fault. In the first qualification of the youngster tour (1.35m) the son of Heartbreaker jumped very well and finished fourth. In the second qualification (1.40m) he performed again brilliant and became second. In the final, price of the Gestüt Dobel, (1.40 m) we were clear in the first round and the jump- off and got the fifth rank- in a class with 8 year old horses. What a great success!
Romualdo was placed in the opening class on Thursday and was clear in a 1.50m class.
Lanzarote was also placed in the opening class. In the “Preis der Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw“, a 1.50m world ranking- class we were clear in both rounds and finished fourth.
The Italian Junior rider Sara and her sister Elvezia Pappone competed also in Pforzheim. Both showed very stylistic and well ridden rounds and were placed several times. Sara was placed on rank 4 and 5 with the seven year old Gaudino under her saddle. She also saddled the seven year old Coldplay (two weeks ago she won the „Manerbio Campionati Regionali Lombardia“) with him. With Coldplay she won an international 1.35m class, became second in an other class and finished third in an international 1.40m class.
Young rider Elvezia showed very was placed with Likido and became third, fifth and sixth with Don Carlos Cyprianus Z.

Laura and Milky Way won a class
What a show…. Rider and Horses of my stable competed at Emmerich last weekend. They were able to win four classes!
Especially the mare Wendy (by Omar) was in a super form and jumped very, very well. Ridden by Daniel the fast mare won two L- classes- one “normal” class and one L class with jump-off. In an other L class they became second as well as in the M* class with jump-off. All in all the 11 year old mare jumped 6 courses and were clear every time. What a great success! Tamira (by Guidam) finished an L class sixth.
When he won the third class Daniel had the five year old stallion Asvegas (by Lupicor) under his saddle. They competed in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse M. In a Springpferde L they became third.
Pia Marie Schröder an Timberland (by Numero Uno) were placed in a L-class.
My daughter Laura can also be very proud of herself. She rode very concentrated and with a perfect style and won the Pony-Springreiter-Wettbewerb with her pony Milky Way.
A wonderful coulisse
The CSI**** Gelderland in De Steeg (Netherlands) is a wonderful show with the typical “Oranje” flair and a lot of sunshine. The atmosphere was brilliant and the spectators had the chance to see show jumping, the national Championships Dressage and carriage driving live.
I was able to place the gelding Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek (by Sit this one out) in an international 1.40m class. We were also placed in a Sixbars- class- a very interesting class- for the rider, as well as for the spectators.
Lanzarote was clear in a 1.40m class with winning round and placed in the RVG Real Estate Prijs, an international 1.50m class with jump-off.

Since more than a half year Coldplay (by Colman) and Sara Pappone (ITA) are a very successful pair. Last weekend the seven year old gelding and the junior rider competed at the „Manerbio Campionati Regionali Lombardia“ and shamed all the other competitors. The young pair won all three classes and so-for sure- also the overall standing. I’m very happy about this success and I would like to congratulate sincerely to the gold medal.
Wendy was successful again © Thomas Koppers
This weekend riders and horses of my stable competed at the show in Goch, very close to my yard.
My daughter Laura was again very successful with her pony Milky Way: she became second in the “Spring-Pony-Reiterwettbewerb” as well as in an E-class.
Wendy (by Omar) and Daniel became second in a L class. Christine and Taloubet (by Baloubet du Rouet) finished third in an M* class with jump-off.
Student Pia Marie Schröder and her Timberland (by Numero Uno) were placed in a L-class.
Daniela Theelen was very successful too. She won a M*-class with her pony Maja Fleur and finished fourth with Vera at a show in Wuppertal.

CSI3* Nörten- Hardenberg is an outstanding show. It is really well organised, very competitive jumping, a wonderful coulisse and a nice social programme.
All in all I’m very satisfied with this show, because all three horses performed really well.
Milky Way (by Heartbreaker, auction horse 2008) won an international class for seven year old horses with the fastest and clear round. He jumped incredible good and gave me a brilliant feeling- like in the other classes.
Lanzarote was clear in a 1.40m class. In the Grand Prix we unfortunately had two faults.
Stallion Romualdo (by Kojak) jumped superbly again! In an 1.50m class with winning round we were clear but I renounced the second round. Nevertheless we were placed in this qualification for the “Gothaer Trophy”. In the “Gothaer Trophy”, a very big class on Saturday evening, we knocked the last jump- infuriating!
On Sunday I saddled the stallion in a 1.45m class with a winning round. He jumped fantastically well again, he shows winner mentally and was clear twice. At the end we became seventh and I’m very happy about this.
Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek (by Sit this one out) competed in the European Youngster Cup - Young Masters League. They were clear in both qualifications. In the final they had one down, but they showed stylistic, confident rounds.
My student Pia Marie Schröder had her first start on an international show and she did very well. With her gelding Timberland (by Numero Uno, auction horse 2009) she was placed in all three classes of the ESCON-Amateurtour. With Gladis (by Grannox) Pia Marie became first in a two-phases class.
Laura and Milky Way
My daughter Laura competed with her pony Milky Way at the show in Sevelen. In the “Spring-Reiter-Wettbewerb” the young girl became third with a score of 7.9. Then she started in her first E-class with Milky Way. Laura was very concentrated, pushed herself and did everything on the right manner. For her good performance the jury rewarded Laura with a 7.7 and the first place. Brilliant!
Daniel also competed at Sevelen:
- Zizania (by Lenardo) was clear in two L-classes and placed one time
- Wendy (by Omar) was placed in a M* and M** class
Last weekend riders and horses of my stable competed very successful in Goch-Heidhausen:
- My daughter Laura and her new pony Milky Way won a jumping class with a brilliant score of 8,0.
- Love Dance (by Lord Kemm) won a L class
- Zizania (by Lenardo) was placed twice in a L class
- Wendy (by Omar) won a L class

Last weekend we competed at the “PferdInternational München”, a three star CSI in Munich. Unfortunately the weather was really bad, but nevertheless it was a nice show- a lot of visitors, a spectacular and bog framework programme and the organizers tried to do the best for the competitors.
I’m satisfied with the show, Romualdo and Lanzarote jumped really well and were placed:
Romualdo was place in an international 1.40m class and in a 1.45m/1.50m class he became seventh.
Lanzarote finished fourth in the “Munich Master”, an 1.45m class with jump-off.
Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were placed in a qualification of the European Youngster Cup. In the Final they became seventh.
Just three weeks ago I collected Gianni Govoni (ITA) and the gelding Little Tinka. This weekend they had their first start on a show and they won directly!
In the Championat of Munich with winner round Gianni and the gelding were clear twice and got the first rank in this big class. Also in the Grand Prix they were placed yesterday. What a great success!

Katrin and Carlson
Again a great success for my apprentice Katrin Eckermann.
Yesterday she won the “Preis der Besten” of the young rider in Warendorf!
With her gelding Carlson she was clear in both classes- she became a fifth place in a S* class and a second place in the S** class with jump- off.
Last weekend I competed at the CSI*** Lamprechtshausen in Austria.
Lanzarote was clear and placed in a 1.45m class and also in the “Pappas Amadeus Goldchampionat”, a 1.50m FEI- world ranking list class.
The six years old stallion Kleiner Onkel (by Heartbreaker) had his first international show and I’m very satisfying with his performance. In the final for 6- and 7 year old horses he jumped really well and was placed with two clear rounds.
Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek (by Sit this one out) were very successful during the show in Austria: They were clear in all three rounds of the European Youngster Cup. In the young rider Grand Prix (1.45m) they had one time penalty, so they were not allowed to compete in the jump off. The pair showed really great rounds! Furthermore Christine was able to place Milky Way (by Heartbreaker) in a class of the Youngster Tour.
Pascale Peiffer had a very successful weekend in Linz, at the 2. Linzer Spring Tour. With Last Minute (auction horse 2009) she were placed in a qualification and the final of the youngster Tour. Pascale and Nabab de Reve were placed in the Grand Prix.
Cederic (by Concorde), auction horse 2008, and his rider Lisa-Mayleen Thoma was placed in a M*- class and in a S*-class at a show in Borgstedefelde.
The stallion For Argentinus (auction horse “Bentley” in 2009) and Flamina Straumann was placed in an international CSI** class at the show in Lummen (BEL).
Yesterday the 10 year old gelding Titanium (by Cavalier) won a L class at the show in Bedburg Hau.
Now or Never, 7 year old stallion, competed the first time after a few month and became fourth in the L class.
Bakela, 5 year old mare by Balou du Rouet, performed again very well and got the second rank in an A- class and the sixth rank in a L class for young horses.
Jordan became fourth in a M* class.
Daniela Theelen competed with her ponies in Wipperfürth- Kreuzberg. Daniela and Vera became fourth in an L and ninth in a M* class with jump off for ponies. With Maja Fleur she was fourth in the M* class with jump off.
Pia Marie Schröder and her gelding Timberland (by Numero Uno) were placed in a L class.
In the final of the third Youngster Festival in Wachterg, a M* class, Kleiner Onkel became fifth. Threesome had one time penalty in the first round and got the sixth rank.
Kleiner Onkel performed brilliant
Today the beautiful stallion Kleiner Onkel showed his rideability and his brilliant technique at the third youngster Festival in Wachtberg. The six year old son of Heartbreaker persuades the jury with his exceptional jumping qualities and got a score of 8.5 in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse L. This was the highest score in this class, so he got the first place. In a Springpferde M the youngster became seventh.
Also Threesome performed very, very good and became fourth in a Springpferde L with a score of 8.1. In the Springpferde M the six year old gelding got the fifth place.

Amazing, auction horse 2009, was again very successful and showed his endless scope. During a show in Manerbio (ITA) the son of star sire Indoctro won two classes for five year old horses.
Benetton (by Quidam’s Rubin), also auction horse in 2009, was placed twice in classes for seven year old horses.
My student Pia Maria Schröder and her gelding Timberland (by Numero Uno) became third in a L class.
It was really nice weather in Germany in the last days and in Italy, during the CSI Modena, it was raining a lot. There was so much rain that all classes have to be cancelled on Saturday.
So it was only possible to compete on Friday and Sunday. Lanzarote was placed in two 1.40m classes and Romualdo was placed in an 1.50m class. In the Grand Prix (1.60m) on Sunday I had two faults with Romualdo.
A renowned show with international top-class competitors … three difficult classes … three clear rounds!
The last days my apprentice Katrin and her gelding Carlson (by Casco) performed absolutely well at the CSI Hagen a.T.W.
They were placed in the first class (1.40m) on Wednesday and showed again a clear round in a speed class yesterday. This morning the young pair was again clear in an international 1.45m class and became seventh. But Katrin can not only be pleased about the seventh place, but also about FEI World Ranking Points.
Furthermore Katrin was placed with Loriot B (by Landor S) in a class of the Youngster Tour.
Anabella Pezzoli and Lagun (by Lancer III)

Yesterday we had a very successful day at the Late- Entry in Prüm:
- Kleiner Onkel (by Heartbreaker) , bought by the Irish rider Denis Lynch at the auction 2009, is in my stable for training since the auction. The last few months he made a brilliant (physical) development and is still developing in an impressive manner. Zig Zag (by Kojak)
Some (former) horses of my stable performed great last weekend:
Last Minute and Pascale Pfeiffer were again clear in the final for six years old horses at the CSI Lummen.
Also Imperial Zig Zag, bought by Clarissa Crotta at the auction 2009, showed his quality and jumped absolutely well in all three youngster classes. The rounds were really exemplary and I’m really happy that Clarissa and the beautiful stallion are such a good team. CSI Neuendorf was Clarissa’s first show after her injury, so this is a special reason for being happy!
Ribery (by Riverman) and Judith Emmers became fourth in a M** class at a show in Bochum Laer.
The nine year old Jordan (by Lanciano) won a M** class in Prüm.
Also the stallion Orlando (by Ircorlando) was very successful- he got the fifth place in a S* class.
Last Minute (auction horse 2009) performed again very successful with his rider Pascale Pfeiffer in the saddle.
After some very good placements during the sunshine tour in Vejer de la Frontera (ESP) he was victorious in a class for six- years old horses at the spring tour in Lummen (BEL) yesterday. I’m very happy about these successful rounds of the son of Quasimodo and Pascale Pfeiffer!
The three- days course was very successful. All riders were very conentrated and showed willingness for learning something.
On the last day they showed improvements concerning the horse-rider connection and the correct riding (between the fences). I'm really satisfied with the participants and hope that they compete successful in the future.
Last week I came back home after a six week stay in the USA. Also the horses landed safely and are well. This week I’ve scheduled a show jumping clinic at my yard and after this the next national and international shows will take place.

Lanzarote and me competed only in one 1.40m class. Unfortunately we had one fault, but nevertheless I am very satisfied. The main reason of this start was to show him the arena, because on Wednesday I will ride the gelding in the Nations Cup.

My next clinic will take place on eastern- April 06 - 08, 2010 (Tuesday- Thursday) at my stable in Goch (Germany). Students receive extensive flatwork training, so they learn to properly exercise and school their horses, develop feeling and timing, and improve their style and position.
Further emphasises are gymnastics, jumping course- sections and at the end jumping a whole course, like on a show.
You can find more information under the Topic “Clinics”.
VDL Group Never Ending and Leopold van Asten (NED) K.H. Frieler
VDL Group Never Ending, auction horse in 2007, competed very successful at the Worldcup show (CSI*****) in Vigo. With her rider Leopold van Asten (Netherlands) the nine year old mare became fifth in an 1.45m two phases class. In an international knock-out class the Nekoma daughter got the second place.
All my horses showed very good performances during the CSI** Offenburg.!
The Youngster Milky Way (by Heartbreaker) was placed in the youngster tour. In the last month the seven year old gelding got a lot of international experience and also this weekend he was relaxed and cool like an “old hand”.
Lanzarote was in a class of the big tour of the CSI** clear and in the Grand Prix we reached the jump off. We made a safe round and became seventh at the end.
Stallion Romualdo was also very good and reached the Jump off of the final of the Middle- Tour.
I’m very lucky that the horses are performing so well. Next week they will fly to America to start at the Winter Equestrian Festival in West Palm Brach.
Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek
Sensational success for rider Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek (by Sit this one out) at the CSI* Offenburg. They were placed in both qualifications of the CSI*- Tour and also in the Grand Prix!
Also the Youngsters competed last weekend and were very successful:
My apprentice Katrin and the mare Bakela (by Balou du Rouet) became third in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse A and L at a show in Keppeln.
With Threesome (by Heartbreaker) she was placed fourth in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse L as well as M.

- 4th place in a M*class with jump-off with Maja Fleur
- 5th place in a M*class with jump- off with Vera.
Last weekend I competed at the CSI Neustadt- Dosse.
Romualdo jumped fantastically well, he was in the opening class as well as in an international jumping class with two rounds without faults and placed.
Lanzarote was clear in an 1.45m class, in the Grand Prix yesterday we unfortunately had one down.
The seven year old Milky Way (by Heartbreaker) was placed 5th in the second qualification of the Youngster Tour.
My apprentice Katrin competed also at the international show.
With the youngster Loriot (Landor S x Polydor) she was 2nd in the qualification of the youngster tour and she was placed in the final.

Pia Maria Schröder and Timberland (Numero Uno x Zeus, auction horse 2009) got the 3rd place in a L- class!
Katrin and Carlson
Pleasing news for my apprentice Katrin Eckermann: Since January 2010 Katrin, German Champion of the Young Riders in 2009, and her gelding Carlson are in the C- squad jumping.
At the Late- Entry in Aachen, Mario was placed second in an L- class with the gelding Jordan. With the seven- year old Contendro- daughter Contendrina he took a third place in the L- class. Considering there were 115 participants in this class it was a great success for the first show in the year 2010.
It was the first show in 2010 for my horses Lanzarote and Romualdo: The K&K Cup in Münster.
Both performed very well and I’m satisfied, but nevertheless we were not placed very often. Because of a fault on the second fence in the Grand Prix, Lanzarote and I didn’t reach the jump off. Romualdo was fifth in the Final of the Medium Tour yesterday.
Christine and Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were fifth in the second qualification of the Medium Tour.
Katrin and her youngster Loriot were placed in both qualifications of the Youngster Tour. In the Final they reached the jump off but nevertheless they had one down in the second round.
Because of several positive feedbacks and the respective results I am in the fortunate position to say that I’ve got a lot of satisfied clients. The most beautiful feedback I received some days ago by SMS „I ‘m in love…”.
This is a big motivation for me to find more successful horse- rider combinations in 2010!
The first show this year will be a national one at Gahlen, here in the Rhineland, next weekend.
