… and again an international result: Six year old stallion Casscare and his rider Kristaps Neretnieks had their first class at CSI2* Roosendaal yesterday. In the youngster tour they were clear and finished second with a great performance in the 1.30m class. The young stallion is developing very well and getting ready for the bigger international classes. At our Sport Horse Sales 2011 he was bought by Marina Federovskaya- congratulations to the proud owner and also the rider of the exceptional youngster!
The TV cameras weren’t to ignore at the auction day and always on their way to film great impressions. Next to Clipmyhorse, the exclusive equestrian broadcaster “Class Horse TV” from Italy and the WDR were at the Sport Horse Sales to film the unforgettable evening. Yesterday the WDR (a German Boradcaster) showed a report at the local news about the auction. Unfortunately it’s only in German, but have a look to the nice impression and our enthusiasm to organize the event! Click HERE to see the report of the WDR in the media centre.
Since weeks we are full of luck- first the really successful opening of the new indoor, Tuesday the sensational Sport Horse Sales and yesterday Laura put the cherry on top. At the Salut Festival in Aachen, the indoor championship of the pony riders, children, junior and young riders and also known as the “CHIO for the youngsters” Laura won the golden ribbon. The 13-year-old Amazon and the eight-year-old mare Polly Pocket won the qualification for the HGW Nachwuchschampionat. With a nearly perfect round Laura was rewarded from the judges with the best mark of 8,4 and won therefore the absolutely challenging competition. We’re more than proud and thankful for every moment!
Goch. Holger Hetzel’s ninth Sport Horse Sales, which took place in the jam-packed new indoor arena at his yard in Goch, set a new record of EUR 3.1 million for 24 horses. A foal was also auctioned off for EUR 10,000 for charity, and the proceeds will be donated to children in need in the Kleve region. Even Holger Hetzel was surprised. “I wasn’t expecting that,” he commented in the early hours of the morning after the ninth Sport Horse Sales in Goch. The 23 horses in the auction collection went under shrewd and agile auctioneer Volker Raulf’s hammer for a total of EUR 3,130,000. The average price was a sensational EUR 136,086.
The horse that sold for the highest price at the auction was, as expected, five year old Irish mare Arraghbeg Clover, the World Champion of Five Year Old Show Jumping Horses 2013. Her new Russian owner, who is also the owner of New Sport Reitpferde GmbH in Borgholzhausen where Swiss rider Clarissa Crotta, Russian champion Olga Chechina and World Championship rider Vladimir Beletzkiy ride, bid EUR 400,000 for her. Five year old Westphalian gelding Einfach-Einfach will also be going to the yard in Borgholzhausen, which used to belong to Franke Sloothaak. He sold for EUR 110,000. US Nations Cup rider and daughter of New York’s mayor Georgina Bloomberg paid EUR 220,000 for five year old grey stallion Choose Me by Cassini, the talented Dutch show jumping horse Dalli Dalli (5) went to Switzerland for EUR 360,000, and EUR 180,000 was bid for both the eight year old grey Holstein gelding Maximus and Dutch-bred stallion X-Factor (5) by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve.
Four horses went to Baden-Württemberg. A Stuttgart-based bidder paid EUR 30,000 for Dutch mare Milka and EUR 110,000 for the grey gelding Salt`n`Pepper. Hans-Jürgen Deuerer (Bretten) from Baden was in a very generous mood. He bought the exceptionally talented Verdi’s Candy for his show jumping wife – who trains with Kalli Streng – for EUR 300,000 and paid another EUR 260,000 for Mecklenburg mare First Lady, whose lineage goes back to Cor de la Bryere. Irish Olympic bronze medal winner Cian O`Connor put in the winning bid of EUR 30,000 for the still five year old Oldenburg gelding Womanizer, and Equi Future Champions from Luxembourg bought the six year old bay mare High Heels (EUR 130,000) and Glamour Girl (EUR 110,000), whose pedigree boasts the excellent genes of Argentinus, Nimmerdor, Numero Uno and Libero H.
The quality horses in the collection were certainly worth the prices paid. And the entire event, which continued into the early hours of the morning, went off without any hitches. It was a fantastic evening that organiser Holger Hetzel, his entire team, the guests and the proud new owners will remember for a long time to come. “None of us will forget these 9th Sport Horse Sales,“ said a radiant and visibly moved Holger Hetzel, “The red carpet, the incredible atmosphere and the unexpected result. It was perfect from start to finish. The guests all appeared to be having a great time and I can only congratulate the new owners of the sensational horses again.”
Shortly: It was an unforgettable evening! Our 9th Sport Horse Sales was an amazing event for all of us and will be forever in our mind! The new indoor was a beautiful location with a familiar atmosphere, records have been broken and all our young horses found great new owners. We are very thankful for this special evening! More information will come soon!
Anyone who can’t make it to this outstanding event can watch the presentation of the young horses and all the bidding action on the Web. The broadcast starts at 5 p.m. on ClipMyHorse.de (www.clipmyhorse.de). Please remember that the sequence of auction lots won’t be identical to the order in which the horses are shown in the catalogue. It will be announced shortly before the auction.
There’s another opportunity this year for buyers who are keen to experience the development of their future show jumper from a very early age and want to contribute to a good cause because another excellent quality colt foal with the top pedigree of Ustinov x Waitaki x Frühlingsball is up for auction again. The proceeds will be donated to children’s charities in the Kleve region, which auction organiser Holger Hetzel will be explaining in more detail on the auction evening.
The unforgettable auction event, with its many highlights, is scheduled for tomorrow. Holger Hetzel’s team has internalised the motto “Same principle, higher standards, new atmosphere“ and they’re aiming to set a new benchmark this year. At 5 p.m. the impressive collection will be presented under the riders for the last time, commentated by TV commentator Carsten Soestmeier. After the gala dinner where guests from all over the world will have the opportunity to meet and chat to each other, the interesting part of the evening will begin. At around 9 p.m. an electric atmosphere will be set before the auction itself begins.
The presentation of the auction horses and the try out was great yesterday. A relaxed day with amazing jumping youngsters and nice atmosphere. 1 day to go, tomorrow is THE DAY!
Today will be a special public demonstration of all auction horses Afterwards there will be an opportunity to ride the horses and enjoy the typical Hetzel hospitality at brunch. Potential bidders who have identified their favourite horse in the collection are very welcome to try it out and enjoy a relaxed day with a great atmosphere and brilliant horses at our stables.
The atmosphere in the new indoor is fantastically well, our team did a fabulous job to prepare everything for the first auction in the new indoor. Of course it was a lot of work, but when we’re looking to the result, we are more than happy. Nothing reminds to a riding hall or that normally horses are cantering over the place you’re sitting. You can be excited!
Chiara and Ludger Beerbaum
Yesterday the Longines Global Champions Tour 2013 Final took place in Doha. After two rounds only three riders made it through to the jump-off, one of them was Ludger Beerbaum with his 10 year old mare Chiara. They opened the jump- off with a solid and fast round, crossing the finish line in a time of 43.83 seconds and finished second in this extremely challenging 1.60m class. Already on Thursday Chiara and her rider showed great performances when becoming fourth in a 1.50/1.55m class at the CSI5* of Doha. We are very proud that we discovered the grey highly talented mare in 2007. You are looking for Chiara II? Check our this years collection!
It is still admirable when national and international horse magazines were brought by the post man and you can find pictures and articles about former horses when looking inside. Today the actual edition of the "Reiterjournal" got in and a big article about Julia Rode and Pokerface and their victory in Grand Prix of CSI** Boll. Pokerface changed his owner at our sport horse sales 2009 . Quotations like: "I know that I am sitting on a great horse" or "he always tries to do his very best and he gives 100 percent security" make us happy. At this point we want to congratulate again to this amazing win, Julia!
It is clear that a lot changed in the ´´Buschstrasse 21´´ during the last months. A bigger grass jumping area, transfer of the walker, a 2nd indoor, a new parking area behind the new indoor and so much more. More interesting to see the construction with a birds eye view! Yes, our stable gets bigger and bigger…
The opening show is over but we are still working with a lot of speed and euphoria. We take a deep breath and stock up some energy for the following two weeks when our 9th sport horse sales will take place. The show was a successful premier for the new indoor; our auction will also take place in the hall. We are all excited to see what is happening the next days, when the youngsters will be in the main focus. With full speed in the direction of the auction!
Everyone who has ever organized an event knows how much work it is and how many people are needed for realizing everything. What my team realized in such a short time is just incredible for me and makes me silence. With amazing passion everyone, really everyone, gave the best and helped to make this event come true. The premiere was exciting for all of us and only with the help of every single team member it succeeded, to start such a great tournament. The perfect service in the course, supporting the participants and their companions, organizing entrance and making everything nice- our team (click here to find more information about our team) has done a sensational work with the eye for little details.
Our ``man for everything Peter Nolden was always available and always on the spot, also electrician Swen Wessels did his best and solved several problems (from small to big) with the power. Maik Wallrafen made beautiful pictures, show office BILA got everything under control, ring master Klaus Jung provided the speedy entrance, the parking team had the all-round view above the coordination. The speaker Kristin Liebelt and Volker Raulf cared for the entertainment, the judges had fun and the coordinators of the screen took care of the actual news. In the course the team of “Blumen Dietz” and the course designer Frank Rothenberger provided great moments, the company Vornbrock guaranteed a perfect ground. Carlo´s Catering were spoiling culinary, Guido Franssen from the party- and event service provided security and a perfect stand. Thanks to our sponsors (more details here) and also to my colleagues- the main protagonists, who followed my invitation! As you can read, an event needs a lot of people and if I forgot somebody I apologize. At this place I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped us making this premiere unforgettably.
Smint and Noemie Goergen
A show of one´s own it anyway thrilling. The tournament of ones own is anyway exciting. At the own competition it is anyway stress but if the own daughter is jumping and former horses from our stable are competing, this still beats the whole situation. All quadruped made best advertising for our stable and the home match also enjoyed Laura to the fullest. In the saddle of Polly Pocket the thirteen-year old girl showed fabulous rounds in the 1.35m and 1.40m class. Despite the many depressed thumbs, Laura couldn't put down her name on the placing list, however, what the joy at the performances did not dull. Also Carolin Becker rode very well. The seven-year-old Smint (auction horse 2012) completed his successes under the saddle of Noemie Goergen with a 3rd place in a 1.35m and also in the 1.40m class with jump-off. Timberland (auction horse 2009) and the Amazon Pia- Marie Schröder became 4th in the 1.35m class.
Before the famous stars competed at the ``Holger Hetzel Cup” yesterday, a 1.35m and a 1.40m class with jump-off have been scheduled. Next to national riders and participants from foreign countries also regional amateur riders could present their selves to the strong competitors and offered an excellent sport. The three sections of the 1.35m class have been won by Noemie Goergen abroad Self Made, Werner Heyne abroad All America and Felix Schneider abroad Laverin la Couleur. Lukas Wilmsen- Himmes became second and Stefanie Reining was happy about the 4th place with her mare Jacordina in this challenging jumping competition. The happy winner of the 1.40m class with a jump-off was Pippa Allen from Eschweiler. She is jumping for the team Stormanns. In the saddle of her horse Cupido Pippa Allen arranged an amazing jump-off, because she started at last of 14 riders and succeeded with the fastest round. This is exciting sport, how we love it! We do not only have been pleased that a lot of riders from Kleve came, but also that they were so successful.
It is a dream of every organizer: due to the large number of visitors the construction needed to be closed very early. The winner of the Grand Prix, endowed with 40.000€ was the 25-year old David Will from Pfungstadt. The student of Dietmar Gugler, who won the Badenia in Mannheim, won the Grand Prix in front of Nicole Persson (SWE) from the stable Ehning in Borken with Quante Z. Denis Nielsen (Cloppenburg) and Come Undome became third and Cian O´Connor, who won the bronze medal at the Olympic games with his horse Blue Lloyd, became fourth with the same horse. Further placements were earned by Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst (Warstein) abroad Balermo, Markus Renzel (Alt Marl) abroad Chico, also the successful rider Gert-Jan Bruggink (Netherlands) abroad Andrea, who lost the 1st place and the award of 10.000 € because of a fault on the last fence with the minimum time.
A lot of international successful riders found their way to Goch: Former World Champion Jos Lansink (Belgium), the Team Gold medal winner of the Olympic games Lars Nieberg (Münster), the former European Champion Marco Kutscher (Riesenbeck) and his colleague Philip Weishaupt, Team World Champion Janne Frederike Meyer (Schenefeld) as well as double Olympic Gold Medal winner Michael Jung (Horb). Also Katharina Offel (Wipperfürth), the current German Champion Eva Bitter (Bad Essen) and Bliss Heers (USA) followed the invitation of their colleague and organizer to the Rhineland.
The first show at Holger Hetzel stables was great, everyone was impressed and surprised what Holger Hetzel and his team organized in such a short time. ,, It was a great day and a befitting opening of the new indoor”, Holger Hetzel said. The show set a course, also regarding the visitors, because for some of them the competition ended quickly: Due to the fact of the big visitors- run they had to close the yard before. Time for a deep breath is short for the team of Holger Hetzel,in two weeks the 9th sport horse sales will take place.
Winner David Will
We are still full of euphoria and trying to process the impressions of our yesterday's indoor-opening show. An incredible number of interested spectators arrived, participants and their horses seemed to feel very well and amazing sport has been offered. It was a great day, we all had a lot of fun. On the starting list of the “Holger Hetzel Cup” (1.50m class with Jump-off) the worlds best riders and their top horses were listed. It was a great honor to welcome these riders and horse combinations at our stables in Pfalzdorf. At 8:45 p.m. the winner of the Grand Prix could be honored: David Will with his stallion Colorit won the class after an exciting round. For pictures click here.
We are hammering, drilling, cleaning, planning ... The preparations for our indoor- opening show are on and in the evening the warm- up starts. The show is a challenge for our team, but it is great fun once to be the organizer instead of participant of an event.
The show next Tuesday, on 19 November 2013 starts at 9 o’clock with 1.35m class. At 12 o’clock the warm-up for the riders of the “Holger Hetzel Cup” starts, before at 1.45 p.m. a 1.40m class with jump-off begins. The ,,Holger Hetzel Cup’’ (1.50m class with winning round), which is endowed with 40.000 € starts at 5 p.m.. The time- schedule, the list of competitors and further information can be found here. Visitors are very welcome, the entrance is free. Please notice that the ,,Buschstraße’’ is a one-way road at the day of the competition, which needs to be passed through the " Landwehrstrasse’’. Please follow the signposting.
Kleiner Onkel and Maria Madenova Foto Dill
… and again a former auction horse was very successful on an international show ground : Kleiner Onkel (auction horse 2009) and Maria Madenova (RUS) reached after two clear rounds the 7th place in the Grand Prix of CSI** Wierden on Sunday. The nine-year old Heartbreaker son and the young rider were also celebrating a third place in an international 1.40m class.
My memory of the ,,Oldenburger Pferdetage 2012’’ are till now overwhelming and still today I get a gooseflesh when I think about the victory in the Grand Prix with my Little Tinka. It was an amazing feeling and indescribable for me. No wondering also that I was happy about my participation at CSI** Oldenburg 2013. Little Tinka stayed at home so that a repetition was not possible. For the first time I saddled Legioner in such a big class and he performed extraordinary good. We finished the Grand Prix with one fault- which I take full of my head- a result that makes me still happy. On Friday afternoon Legioner was placed in a 1.45 m world ranking class. Also the seven- year old Check Me Out satisfied with big lightness in the course: The gelding placed himself in a 1.40 m class. Carolin Becker competed at the International Amateur Tour and in the saddle Prudence de Beaufour she got a placement in a 1.25m class. In the 1.40m class the Amazon showed great rounds, she finished 5th and 9th
The countdown is on: Today in a week we are opening our new indoor with a brilliant show with an exclusive starter’s field. We are pleased to welcome a plenty of international successful riders to the,, Holger Hetzels Cup’’, a 1.50m class with winning round. Next to the German Champion Daniel Deusser, European and World Champions will compete, just as the double winner of the Olympic Games Michael Jung and other winner of the Olympic Games. The list of famous riders is quiet long and it is an honour to welcome these riders at our stables in Pfalzdorf. It’s a lot of work but with our team it’s just fun.
Next to the preparation of out opening show we are stacked in the preparation of the auction. Today in three weeks our 9th sport horse sales takes place! We are really proud of our current collection and we are excited to present the youngster to our prospective buyers. The try out of the auction horses already started and it is a great feeling to see the happiness of the different riders, which feel very comfortable in the saddles. As a matter of course everyone who is interested is invited to try his favourite. Three enormous weeks lie ahead of us!
The upcoming weeks will be exciting and we all are glad about this fascinating time. Today in two weeks, on Tuesday the 19th November we open our new riding hall with an opening- show and fabulous participants. We are proud to welcome a lot of high-succeed riders- there under the current German champion, European Champion, World champion and the Gold Medal Winner of the Olympic Games 2012 in London. Better is just not possible! Today in four weeks our 9th Sport Horse Sales takes place. There is enough to do: The indoors and the whole complex have to be prepared and also the auction horses get our full attention- From cleaning the windows up to clipping the horses- it’s never getting boring. And with a lot of fun everything gets easier.
The daily work at home in Goch makes is just fun. On one side there are the 25 auction horses, which make much fun because of their magnificent qualities. Each youngster impresses with great rideability and exceptional willingness to learn, so we are repeatedly confirmed with our selection. Of course the other horses also give us a lot of fun in the training and enjoy the competition break. Another reason, why we don’t want to stop riding, is the new indoor: A lot of space, perfect light conditions, a perfect ground- it is just gorgeous and I am looking forward to each new day and to the new challenges here in the business. Also the satisfied customers, who obviously feel comfortable here when trying out the (auction) horses, enjoy us enormously. The great labor is completed by our super team that despites the lot of work with the best atmosphere and ensures the perfect welfare of the horses.
Carolin Becker und Balderdas
Carolin Becker travelled from the ,,Munich Indoors’’ from Bavaria with a lot of satisfaction. In the saddle of her horses the Amazon showed great rounds in the impressive Olympic hall: With the seven-year-old Balderas she finished third and eighth in international 1.25m classes. With her mare Prudence de Beaufour she ranked seventh in a 1.25m class and rode great rounds in 1.40m classes.
At the beautiful competition on the Abtshof in Mönchengladbach we had our last show (before the auction). Especially Laura had a reason for being happy- only thirteen years old the Amazon was the youngest rider in the main competition, a 1.40m class with winning round. In the saddle of Polly Pocket Laura rode a perfect clear round and was placed in this class. Jens placed the seven-year-old Balderas in a 1.40m class. Quinnkannan ranked himself in a 1.35m class. Imma presented Valou in a 1.35m class and finished the class with place three.
Yesterday the van of Völcker Druck stands infront of our door, and everyone directly knew: the auction catalogues arrive! On four palettes loaded, in several boxes packed the gold pieces were firstly carried into the office, before work started. In a good mood and full of joy the team started working and as every year: DVD in the DVD case, DVD in the catalogue, Invitations and catalogue in the envelope, envelope closed, post stamp on it and directly into the yellow post box. Everything went well and fast- experience shows it. Before work started I signed every invitation and now I can see the full indoor on the auction day in my mind. Now, after two days, all of the catalogues are on there way to the customer or just ready to give them away for the next weeks. If you want to have your personal catalogue, you can order them here.
Since the sport horse sales 2012 grey gelding Cedric is stabled at Steve Guerdats stables in Switzerland. During this year the six year old son by Catoki convinced his rider again and again and also last weekend Cedric showed exceptional great performances at CSI* Manerbio. Ridden by Olympic winner Steve Cedric was clear in all classes he competed in. In the Grand Prix on Sunday the pair was double clear and finished eighth.

Friday, 25 October 2013, 9:37 a.m.: The new indoor is open. Our daughter Laura and Polly Pocket were the first who rode the first round in the new indoor arena. After sectioning the red ribbon Polly and Laura entered the new ground for the first time. Of course our other riders followed them and after cantering the first rounds in the generously dimensioned 30 x 70 m arena everyone was impressed. I was also very proud and happy- my dream came true. And I can agree that it’s a special feeling to ride in this exceptional indoor!
We don’t just sell horses at his auction, we also caters to an international clientele during the rest of the year. To his delight, all the horses we’re sold are winning and competing successfully at showground’s in Germany and elsewhere in the world. Ultimately, whether they’re jumping 80cm courses or international 1.60m courses, it’s the rider’s satisfaction with the horse’s performance and their individual achievements that count. Some horses have competed in championships from regional to European level this season. Even to be selected to compete in a European championship is an achievement in itself. During the last days we’ve renewed the references on our websites. Click here to have a look to our former horses, the faces of their riders and the performances!

Holger Hetzel has teamed up with Waldhausen + Bürkel, an Audi Partner in Mönchengladbach, to provide a lecture entitled “Riding: Values for Life" on Monday 21 October 2013 at 7.30 p.m.
Why is riding like no other hobby? Because horses are not conventional animals and riders aren’t conventional people. Riding and contact with horses shape people’s personalities. They enhance our personal strengths and teach us to recognise and work on our weaknesses. The professional rider will be giving the audience a glimpse into his everyday routine, and even experienced riders can look forward to taking new knowledge and insights back home with them. Parents of children who already ride or want to ride, riders and people who are thinking about getting back into riding will enjoy this informative and entertaining evening at Audi Partner Waldhausen + Bürkel’s showroom (Hohenzollernstrasse 250 41063 Mönchengladbach). Please register in advance (by e-mail at A.Buechter@holger-hetzel.de or by phone at 02823-18524).
Christine and Legioner © by Manfred Leitgeb, Krisztian Buthi
Like every year we started the indoor season at CSI3* Wiener Neustadt in Austria. This year again it was a very nice show with perfect conditions for rider, grooms, visitors and horses.
Our horses jumped fantastically well and got several placements and super results. Highlight was Christine and Legioner’s victory in the Medium Tour Final (1.45m). They showed fantastic performances and especially in the jump-off they convinced again. On Saturday they became already fourth in a 1.40m class of the Medium Tour.
My gelding Little Tinka was also in a very good form and jumped motivated. We were ninth in the Grand Prix of Lower Austria (1.50m) and finished fifth in a 1.45m class of the Big Tour. The eight year old mare Casscora was placed twice in international classes of the Small Tour as Gertje van het Scheefkasteel got a sixth place in a class of the Youngster Tour. Chestnut mare Tinka’s Queen was ridden by Christine and jumped exceptionally great in the Younger classes: They were placed in a a qualification and finished ninth in the final. This weekend was fun!

Spectators are very welcome and there is no entrance charge.
Unesco and Jan Distel © by Manfred Leitgeb, Krisztian Buthi
What a final at CSI3 * Wiener Neustadt: The twelve-year-old gelding Unesco and his rider Jan Distel won in the Grand Prix of Lower Austria at CSI3 * Wiener Neustadt on Sunday. In the winning round the pair was a class by themselves and won the main class with a big lead of five seconds. No wonder that the rider, as well as the owner of the successful gelding by Kojak were beamed with joy. Next to this victory Unesco and Jan Distel convinced in the qualification class for the Grand Prix, when they became first in the challenging 1.45m class. Congratulations!
We had a lot of fun when making the video clips of the auction horses and we can confirm that all youngsters have an unbelievable great character. When jumping the people kept on going building the indoor- trucks were driving, a crane made up the outside wall of the new indoor and the instruction workers made a lot of noises….
The horses are selected, the videos and pictures fort he catalogue and DVD have been made- the auction time has begun! A few days ago we have made the video clips of the young horses for the 9th edition of my sport horse sales It was just fun to see the horses jumping, the riders Christine, Jens and Imma were smiling all day long because they enjoyed it so much.
As usual, we are offering a meticulously selected collection of excellent show jumpers, all of them with extraordinary qualities. This year 25 highly talented youngsters aged four to eight are in the auction lot. All of them have a lot potential, rideability and that something special everyone is looking for. As usual, we are auctioning a meticulously selected collection of excellent show jumpers, all of them with extraordinary qualities. Save the date!
Alfa Jordan Z
In March 2013 he did his first show and since that time his track record increased on an almost "monotonous level"- but on highest level: 1st place, 1st place, 1st place, 1st place,… Yesterday the five year old stallion Alfa Jordan Z (auction horse 2012) won again. Ridden by Clarissa Crotta the beautiful athlete was scored with a 9.0 (!) for his round in a youngster L class at the show in Damme. His stable mate Dalli Dalli, five year old talent by Canturano x Indoctro, became second with the great score 8.5. Both horses showed again their exceptional talent and scope and were perfectly presented by Clarissa. Congratulations to the owner of Alfa Jordan Z and the rider of both horses!

The German Children Team
The start could not have been better: in the first class of the Children European Championships 2013 Laura and Polly Pocket were clear! With highest concentration the thirteen year old Amazon and her eight year old mare completed the course and were able to earn loud applause when riding trough the finish- line. A beautiful and motivating beginning of the first European Championships! For sure this round gives a lot of security and self- confidence for the next days. Whatever comes, we are incredibly grateful for this priceless experience here in Andalucía and enjoy every day with the great German team. It’s unbelievable to feel the team spirit within the German team and being a member of it. Also the atmospheric opening ceremony last night was a great experience for the young riders!
G- Star and Wilma Raulf
Since we have started with the construction work of the second indoor arena, the sun is shining all day long and it’s getting warmer and warmer. The construction workers despite the enormous temperatures and make a respectable job. Now the device of the walker is visible and the casting of the concrete foundation for the huge indoor has started. Follow here the construction and look at the pictures of the development here.
Laura and Polly in Spain
On Saturday Laura and her German team mates including family and friends arrived well in Vejer de la Frontera. On the show- ground she met her satisfied partner Polly Pocket, who survived the transport from Germany to Spain in accompany from Romy in best condition. Laura and Polly Pocket enjoy their first international Championship and represent proudly the German colors. All two- and four legged athletes and their attendance are very well, the show ground is more than beautiful, the international level and the many many flaggs and banners are not to ignore, the weather could not be better… Shortly: It’s a perfect show with best conditions!!! Laura keeps the team at home updated by telephone, SMS and E-Mail and reports us her impressions. The Vet Check is done and all German horses passed without problems. Also the warm- up was good and gives positive energy for the coming days… Tomorrow morning I will sit in the plane to attend the first class live. Exciting!
Christine und Legioner von Judith Mußmann
On Saturday they we’re the best at the Rhenish Championships in Langenfeld… Christine and Legioner! In the challenging 1.45m class they showed an incredible nice round, the course looked very easy when Christine and Legioner were jumping the difficult lines and fences. At the end they won the class and the little fighter Legioner enjoyed leading the lap on honour. Fortunately Jens and I were also allowed to attend the prize- giving ceremony with our horses: Jens and Zaire were also clear in this class and became fourth, I rode Casero withoud faults and finished sixth. In the Final on Sunday we got two more ribbons: Casero became seventh in the bit 1.50m class with two rounds and Christine and Legioner finished twelfth with fantastically well rounds. The youngster were also successful: Franco, eight year old gelding, got a placement in a 1.35m class. Casscora and seven year old Luigi were also clear in this youngster class. Five year old Udarko by Ustinov was placed in the youngster L class. And an other highlight: The stallions Colonel and Contador are qualified for the Federal Championships for young horses 2013 in Warendorf!
Leonie mit ihrem zweiten Pferd
Since two years Leonie Weirich and the ten year old mare Generation are a couple and since that time they stepped up from 1.20 to 1.40m level. Last weekend they convinced again at the Bavarian Championships for Junior rider in Munich. In the first class (1.35m) they became ninth. In the final, a challenging 1.40m with two rounds, the fifteen year old Amazon and her four legged partner were in top form and won this class. For sure Leonie was proud when getting the golden ribbon in the prize- giving ceremony… Congratulations!
Laura and her team mates by: DOKR
The countdown is on - in just a few days European Championships Jumping for Children, Juniors and Young Riders in the Spanish Vejer de la Frontera begins. An incredibly exciting debut for Laura and Polly Pocket! During the recent days the nominated rider enjoyed a preparatory course at the National Training Centre in Warendorf: dressage and jumping training, information sessions, team talks, fitting of the official team clothing and finally packing the truck and loading the horses on Wednesday night. The horses are already on the way to the south, Laura and her teammates will travel tomorrow. Also a part of our family and friends will keep their fingers crossed live in Spain. Our entire team wishes Laura and her teammates Kathrin Stolmeijer, Laura Schoechert, Marie Ligges, Catharina Nane Staack, coach Eberhard Seemann and of course all the German juniors and young riders good luck, have fun and have a memorable time in Andalucía!
… and since a long time it is my dream is to build a second indoor arena on my yard. Finally the realization has begun: A beautiful indoor arena with a dimension of 30x70m is currently being built at my stables. Already on the plans and drawings the huge size of the new building is visible, but now, since the people start preparing the field, we realize how big the area really is. Last Friday the excavators started work and since then significant earthworks have been done.
When we came back from CSI Geesteren on Sunday evening we were surprised how quickly the work is progressing and the highest mountain of Pfalzdorf is on the field behind my exciting, indoor, even the mountain is artificially created by the wicked ground… The new indoor will be build behind the excising indoor and a special driving was built over the field, so our daily routines are fortunately not disturbed.
Day by day the dream will be realized and the evening walk over the field is every time exciting. To give you an idea of the work and construction plans, we will provide regular updates with pictures of the construction!
The sun was shining, the show was organized very well and our entire team was very satisfied during the CSI**/*** Twente in the Netherlands. Especially our youngster convinced with beautiful rounds in the international classes and jumped very well in the different courses:
- Gertje van het Scheefkasteel was like always: Highly motivated, concentrated and fresh. The seven year old Belgian gelding finished sixth in a 1.35m class of the CSI*** Youngster Tour and got an exceptional second place in the Final of the Young Horses classes
- Tinka’s Queen also set herself in the scene and jumped fantastically well and very quiet in the Young Horses classes of the CSI**. Ridden by Christine the six year old mare was placed twice in international 1.30m classes
- He is only a few days in our stables but convinced already with super performances under the saddle of Christine: Luigi. The seven year old gelding was clear in 1.30m classes of the CSI**
- Casero was clear and placed in an international 1.40/1.45m class
Also our students Maddalena, Natalia and Karina competed (for the first time) at the official CSI**. The thee riders rode very well on the impressive show ground in the different classes and can be very happy with their (clear) rounds in the international starting fields.

A nice and special prize: A sculpture
On Friday Jens presented the youngster at the show in Kranenburg and was able to win a class: Five year old stallion Samba de Landetta, a beautiful youngster of the Zangersheide studbook, won the A** class for young horses. The son of Sandro Boy jumped fantastically well and was also placed third in the youngster L class. Cristokan, five year old stallion by Cristo, became fifth in the youngster L class.
Chiara by digishot.nl
Last weekend the CHIO Aachen, the most prestigious horse show in Europe, took place. In addition to the title and following the nomenclature for the tournament, the CHIO has been held under the self-chosen name "Weltfest der Pferdesports" (World Equestrian Festival) since 1992. One of the worldwide known top horses which competed at the glorious show was Chiara, auction horse 2007. The ten year old mare and her rider Ludger Beerbaum showed great rounds and recommend themselves for the European Championships in August. In the first class on the impressive show ground they were clear. On Thursday Chiara and her rider were in the German Equipe in the FEI Nations Cup and became third. On Sunday was ridden in the challenging ROLEX Grand Prix and finished sixth after two brilliant rounds!
In the recent months Laura showed great and exemplary ridden rounds in the course with her horses and was pleased with various successes. Now, after the international Young Rider Festival "Future Champions" in Hagen, she got a special reward for their consistent performances: Laura and Polly Pocket are by the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) nominated for the FEI European Championships of Children! Just 13 years old and already a ticket for the European Championship in the bag, what an honor and at the meantime an important challenge. With a smile in our face and full of proud we wrote in our calendar: 16th till 21st July "EC in Vejer de la Frontera", an incredibly exciting opportunity for all of us. We are also very happy for Laura’s teammates Ligges Marie, Laura Schoechert, Catharina Nane Staack and Kathrin Stolmeijer and we would like to congratulate the young girls for the nominations and wish all the best. We are looking forward to the journey to Spain with a great German Children Team!
Personality & Alena
Yesterday we received again an E-mail of a happy horse owner. The Russian Amazon Alena sent us great pictures of herself and her five year old gelding Personality. Since the auction 2012 Alena is the owner of the Chacco- Blue youngster and since that time they are enjoying a great time in Russia. The pair show great rounds in the course and a successful on shows and are a beautiful photo model as well!
On Thursday I supported Laura at the international show in Hagen and celebrated the win in the Nations Cup individual rating. After this amazing class I drove to Pforzheim, where Romy and my horses were already waiting for me. This year again the CSI3* convinced again with a super organization, great circumstances for all of is and wonderful and glorious sunshine.
The eight year old mare Casscora (by Cassini II) showed two phenomenal clear rounds in the Youngster Tour Final. She jumped amazing in the 1.40/1.45m class and the feeling she gave me in the courses was just brilliant. These rounds were a confirmation for me that we’re on the right way with this mare. Cheer jumped amazing again and placed eighth in a 1.40m class and finished seventh in a 1.45m class. She jumped also clear in the final of the Medium Tour, a challenging 1.50m course.
Lots of ribbons
Last weekend Laura competed at the International Young Rider show “Future Champions” in Hagen a.T.W., a wonderful show with Nation Cups for all age groups. This tournament is also called the "Aachen for the youth" and this year again young riders from all over Europe participated at this perfectly organized show. Laura also loved the scenery, but was not impressed in any way. When jumping with Titanium they unfortunately had a little bit “bad luck” on the horseshows- not all poles wanted to stay, but anyway- the 13yo Amazon rode great rounds. Bad luck and good fortune are close together, but this is one of the reasons why we love the equestrian sport! In the saddle of the only eight year old mare Polly Pocket Laura was clear in all Children classes. The faultless round in the opening class gave already self confidence for the upcoming days. On Thursday Laura competed in the Nations Cup individual rating and she rode the course exactly as we had discussed it: super lines, exemplary style and fast. At the end they won this class and got the golden ribbon. Buoyed by the victory in the individual competition Laura und Polly Pocket did a great job again in the Grand Prix on Saturday: They finished seventh out of 69 competitors from all over Europe with two clear rounds! We are incredibly proud of Laura! I have to admit, standing next to the course and supporting the daughter is much more exciting than riding by myself!
Pumped up kicks Lillie Keenan by ESI Photography
Fifteen-Year-Old Lillie Keenan and Pumped Up Kicks jumped to First Grand Prix Win in $125,000 Purina Animal Nutrition Grand Prix, Presented by Zoetis at HITS Saugerties. The pair closed out three weeks of spring shows at HITS-on-the-Hudson with the only double clear of the day, cracking the code to Canadian designer Danny Foster’s track.
They started competing together at the start of the winter circuits in Florida this year and Sunday marked the first grand prix victory for both. “My horse does better the bigger and harder the course,” said Keenan, who hails from New York, New York. “The scope he has is unbelievable – I have yet to jump a fence where I feel like he is actually trying.”
Pumped Up Kicks, a 10-year-old German-bred gelding may have been one of the younger and smaller horses in the field, standing at barely 16.1 hands, but he flexed his muscles in the jump-off. “He’s a special horse,” added Keenan. “I am new to these classes and we never thought this was where he would excel, so I kind of feel like I am growing up with him.”
We’re very happy that “Kicks” found a great new home at the USA and with Lillie Keenan a wonderful rider. Congratulations and good luck for the upcoming shows!
Casscare and his rider
Last weekend the six year old stallion Casscare (auction horse 2011 “Feiner Kerl”) had his first international show at CSI4* Moscow, Russia. Ridden by Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) the highly talented son of Cassini II left a mark at his rider, owner as well as the spectarors when he finished all classes of the challenging Youngster Tour without any fault. In the qualifications he finished fourth and eleventh and in the big final for six- and seven year old horses he showed again his talent and quality. In the final Casscare and his rider were fourth! At our sport horse sales in 2011 the beautiful youngster was sold to the Russian lady Marina Federovskaya and since that time he develops more than great. Congratulations!
Due to the bad weather circumstances we had to wait very long with building our wonderful, brightly coloured jumps on our large grass jumping arena, but today we’ve built a super course! We’re enjoying the great sight and are looking forward to train on the ground!
Chiara by digishot.nl
On Saturday the Grand Prix of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the “Lotto- Hessen- Preis”, took place at CSI5* Wiesbaden. The Longines Global Champions Tour combines the main aspects of show jumping: the worlds best riders, the best horses, the highest prize money and the very highest calibre show jumping in some of the world’s most exciting and dynamic destinations. Within the starting field: Chiara (auction horse 2007) ridden by four-time Olympic medallist Ludger Beerbaum. The pair impressed with three great, clear rounds in the two 1.60m rounds as well as in the jump- off. They finished fourth in the challenging class and the overjoyed Ludger said: “She couldn’t jump any better”. Furthermore the pair got a placement in the 1.45m high opening class of the CSI5* show when jumping clear.
Graf Conrad (auction picture)
Conrad, sold at the auction 2012 when he was named “Graf Conrad”, got the qualification for the DKB Bundeschampionat (Federal Championships for young horses) at the show in Cottbus last weekend. The six year old gelding by Canto and his rider Björn Nagel were scored with an 8.4 in the qualification and received the ticket for the participation in Warendorf. In addition Conrad and his rider were placed in a 1.30m class. Congratulations to the owners of the horse, who have another excellent youngster in their stable, named Alfa Jordan (auction horse 2012).

Quasi Fomia and Zoe Osterhoff
Great successes could be celebrated by the fourteen year old Amazon Zoe Osterhoff at CSIO Lamprechtshausen in Austria. In the saddle of her seven year old mare Zoe was able to finish all courses without any fault. In the opening class of the big tour they showed a clear and got a lot of self- confidence for their first participation at a Children Nations Cup. With two clear rounds in the Nations Cup Zoe and Quasi Fomia Z significantly contributed to the second place in for the German Team. In the Children Grand Prix on Sunday they were again double clear and got the seventh rank.
Tim Birckenstaedt was also nominated for the CSIO Lamprechthausen and competed in the challenging classes for junior rider. With his chestnut mare Power Lady Tim was able to get placements in the opening class as well as in the individual rating of the Nations Cup.
Top Gun by DB- Foto
Swiss show jumper Christina Liebherr has got a new horse in her stable: The 9-year-old grey gelding Top Gun (Limotas x Corofino). As a five year old Top Gun was sold at my auction in 2009 and since that time he is successful in the international sport, like promised by me in the auction catalogue. The gelding had been internationally presented by Holger Wenz before. The pair ranked fourth at the CSI3* Bremen, Germany where Holger Wenz earned precious world ranking points. We look forward to the debut of Top Gun and his new rider and wish them much success!
Alfa Jordan Z
The third win in a row, including a new top score. Yesterday, the five year old Zangersheide stallion "Alfa Jordan Z" and his rider Clarissa Crotta have once again shown what they are a high quality pair. With the perfect score of 8.7 they won a youngster L class with a well known starter field at the show in Klein Roscharden. In the auction catalogue 2012 we described the stallion with the words “he’s obviously going to be a pleasure to train and it won’t be long before the training pays off. He’s got great potential as a future competition stallion and he’s also interesting as a breeding stallion”. Currently we’re very pleased that this prediction is already backed with adequate success.
Aseth and Antonio Sanfelice
Rain, rain, rain .... Southern Germany's biggest horse festival "Pferdinternational", on the Olympic equestrian center in Munich- Riem, was unfortunately plagued of continuous rain. On Thursday we and the numerous spectators enjoyed glorious sunshine before the dark clouds came. It didn’t jumped so much in Munich, because I also had to travel to Warendorf, to coach our daughter Laura at the jump. My horses travelled directly from Manheim to Munich and showed good performances: Little Tinka was clear in a 1.45m class and jumped easy and relaxed. I decided to ride Cheer in the challenging, 1.50m high qualifications for the Grand Prix and she did a really, really good job in both classes. Seven year old Gertje van het Scheefkasteel was placed seventh in the EDSOR Youngster Cup (1.40m).
This weekend was really special for our stable: were many great rounds at different shows, placements, victories and even a Nations Cup debut. This is why we are in the luxurious situation to write several articles about successes, experiences, victories, grinding, premieres and fun. As you can understand I’m not able to be on all shows, the more I was excited about the various calls and text messages with positive news of my team while I’m competing in Mannheim with my horses. There is no doubt that we’re not celebrating the moments of success, because these are the results of concentrated, thoughtful training and respect towards our four- legged partners!
Enthusiasm, strain, palpitation of the heart, wet hands, jubilance, endless treats and strokes for the horses- these words suit perfectly for describing the weekend, especially the Saturday, at CSIO Lommel, Belgium.
For the first time Laura was nominated for the participation in the Children Nations Cup by federal trainer Eberhard Seemann. I really have to admit that it was an exciting day, the sight of Laura wearing the red team jacket with the Federal Eagle and Polly Pocket with the Federal Eagle on the saddle pad made a spine- tingling moment!
It truly was Nations weather- blue sky and sunshine- added to a great atmosphere on the show ground. Laura's debut was as good as it could not have been better- the 13 year old Amazon and Polly Pocket finished double clear in the two rounds! Her teammates Marie Ligges, Kathrin Stolmeijer and Laura Schoechert showed also great performances in the two rounds, so a jump-off had to decide.
Also in the jump all four young riders showed nerves of steel and won after a thrilling jump-off the silver medal. The prize-giving ceremony has been celebrated accordingly with a podium, medal hand-over, hymn and a lap of honor with Germany-flags and thunderous applause. Congratulations to the young team for the great second place!
Also the other days of the beautiful show have been great and full of success. With Polly Pocket she finished eighth and in the saddle of Titanium Laura got the sixth place in an international class.
Due to the fact that I was not in Lommel I would like to thank Bonds Coach Eberhard Seemann, who coached Laura perfectly and looked after her exemplary. Like always Laura was lovingly supported by her biggest fans- her mother, grandmother and grandfather.
Lymley won the 1.35m class
Seven year old gelding Gertje van het Scheefkasteel had a great start at CSI3*/CSIYH* Manheim yesterday. The son of Moujik de Sohan jumped in his usual manner- highly motivated and with lots of scope- unimpressed by the beautiful scenery in the MVV- stadium- through in the course and became third in the international Youngster Tour for seven and eight year old horses. At the end Gertje was the best seven year old horse in the excellent starting filed of 65 horses. Cheer was placed in a 1.45m class and was also clear in a challenging 1.50m class.
Student Maddalena Bianchi rode fantastically well in the international Amateur classes at CSI Mannheim and got three ribbons in 1.40m classes with her stallion Watch Out.

Little Tinka relaxing on the field
Today it’s holiday and we’re enjoying wonderful spring weather with blue sky and sunshine. This weekend my stable is represented on three shows: Bedburg- Hau, CSI Mannheim and Laura is already on the way to CSIO Lommel in Belgium. Before we’re going to CSI Mannheim tomorrow, my horses enjoy relaxing on the field. Also the other four-legged athletes are enjoying their "Holiday Programme" - field, running loose on the lunge or relaxed dressage work ...
Yesterday we -or better said Laura-was visited by a camera crew from the German TV, who made some shoots for the children's newscast "logo!" for the television transmitter KI.KA.. This daily newscast shows current political issues, brings news about sports or social events as well as many reports about children and their special interest. This time Laura and her hobby “horse riding” were in the focus of the reporter. After a brief interview (Laura gave great answers!) the young Amazon and the crew went to the stables where Laura cleaned and saddled Polly Pocket to show her talent in the saddle. When Laura rode dressage and jumped several jumps she smiled to the camera and answered several questions. We are excited to see the final reportage. We would like to thank the friendly reporter and the nice camera crew for the interesting hours!
Captain Sparrow (Auction 2012)
Last weekend Captain Sparrow showed again that Olympic Champion Michael Jung is the perfect rider for him. At the show in Stutensee- Spröck the six year old gelding by Cormint won two classes for young horses with the sensational scores 9.2 and 9.0. These high scores are only given by the judges, if the horse shows exceptionally rideability and an exemplary jumping manner in the course. Even Bibi could increase her account with a second rank in a 1.35m class. Congratulations to rider Michael Jung, who is responsible for the training of the two youngsters since the auction 2012.
Dani and Lanzarote
With a great result of the Rhenish riders in the Junior Grand Prix at the international show Eschweiler Young Masters yesterday. Only two riders managed to jump the first round, a challenging 1.40m course, clear and get the qualification for the Grand Prix. Finally Lanzarote and Daniela Theelen were double clear and deservedly won the Grand Prix. The second pair in the jump-off were Tim Birckenstaedt and his mare Power Lady, who got the silver ribbon for their great performance. During the first days of the international show in Eschweiler Daniela and Tim showed already great clear rounds with their horses in the difficult classes of the Gold Tour. These results make me unbelievable happy and proud, because both horses are originally from my stable and now they are very successful with their young riders on renowned national and international shows.
Tim Birckenstaedt and Power Lady
The outstanding result in the Grand Prix was completed by Timberland (auction horse 2009) and Pia-Marie Schröder- they finished sixth in the 1.40m class. Furthermore Pia-Marie and her nine year old gelding were sixth in a gold-Tour class and fifth in a Silver-Tour class. With her gelding Pascal Pia-Marie got the fifth rank in the opening class.
Also in the Children Grand Prix there was a reason to celebrate: Zoe Osterhoff and Quasi Fomia finished eighth in the international Grand Prix. Previously Zoe and her seven year old mare were eight in an opening class. Congratulations to Daniela, Tim, Zoe and Pia-Marie, who presented their four-legged-partners excellently, showed great performances. They can be very proud of their results!
Laura and Polly Pocket by AFL
Our thirteen year old daugther Laura had a great start at the junior riders show (Ch A / CSIP / CSIJ A / CSI U25 A) in Eschweiler: With her proven gelding Titanium the Amazon won the first qualification for the Grand Prix with almost four seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. In the saddle of Polly Pocket Laura showed also a very nice clear round in this class. On Sunday she rode exemplary, very focused clear rounds in the Children Grand Prix with both Titanium as well as Polly Pocket. Unfortunately, she had one fault with both horses. The videos have been analyzed, the faults discussed and now she goes on with great optimism and enthusiasm to the next show!
Walter and Maddalena Bianchi
The Italian student Maddalena Bianchi competed also at the international show and impressed with super rounds. In the saddle of Walter Maddalena got a placement in a 1.40m class of the Young Rider Gold Tour. In the Grand Prix Maddalena rode an exemplary round with her stallion Watch Out, unfortunately they had one down and were not qualified for the jump-off…
Call me Hannes by Marx
Two more horses for sale are presenting themselves on this website with pictures, information and videos: One of them is Call me Hannes, a seven year old impressive gelding with lots of scope. His sire is Cassini II and dam’s sire is Lasino. The other horse is a beautiful chestnut mare called Lady Lancer, a super junior- or amateur horse. Check them out right now!
Finally the videos from the Grand Prix at CSI Wellington (9th week of Winter Equestrian Festival 2013) are online now. I'm absolutely proud of Little Tinka and Cheer, both jumped fantastically well and did again an unbelievable job for me. Little Tinka finished sixth in the $82000 Suncast 1.50m Jumper Classic and Cheer performed also great in her first Grand Prix of this level.
We have always a wide range of exciting horses for sale in our stable. Youngster, experienced horses, Junior/Amateur/Professional horses- all of them with different results. Four of these horses are now presented on this website under the topic "horses for sale", have a look! Other horses can be found on our YouTube channel "HetzelHorses" or contact us for personal advice.

Since yesterday we rejoice in finest spring weather in Goch: blue sky, comfortable temperatures, beautiful (almost unfamiliar) sunshine, twittering birds, the horses look very satisfied out of their windows ... Just lovely! The first rounds on our outdoor arena been made with the horses and they really enjoyed cantering under the free sky. We look forward to the upcoming outdoor season!
Palm Beach International Equestrian Center
On Sunday I went to Dusseldorf airport to take a plane to Miami, USA. Destination: The city of Wellington and the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Like many of my colleagues from around the world, the "Winter Equestrian Festival", the world's largest and longest equestrian event, is a fabulous alternative to our indoor shows. My horses Little Tinka and Cheer arrived safe and sound in Wellington last week and could get used to the nice summer temperatures quietly. This weekend our first show takes place, I'm pretty excited! The reason for being able to stay in Florida is my amazing team at home. The grooms take care of the horses with great passion and Jens continues the concentrated training of the horses, presenting them on shows and training the students!
Gertje van het Scheefkasteel by Digishot.nl
Last weekend the riding club Borken organized a top-class national show. Riders from elf Nations used the possibility to show their horses in several classes under best requirements. I drove to Borken to show two of my youngsters in challenging classes. Seven year old gelding Gertje van het Scheefkasteel and eight year old mare Casscora jumped fantastically well and were clear and placed in a 1.35m competition with two phases. Jens showed Franco, eight year old gelding by For Keeps, and got also a placement.
This morning my gelding Little Tinka and the mare Cheer were shipped to Amsterdam Schiphol airport to get on a big plane. Destination of the trip: International Airport Miami, Florida, USA. The purpose of the trip is to participate at the "Winter Equestrian Festival" in Wellington, where I will compete with the both horses in various international classes in the coming weeks. The "WEF" is the largest and longest equestrian event in America, which takes place every year from January to April in the oversized area of the International Palm Beach Equestrian Center. I’m looking forward to compete under the (hopefully) blue sky and meet a lot of friends, acquaintances and clients on the other side of the continent.
Full of Hope (with Christine) by DB-Fotos
Great performing horses, super courses, many clear rounds and positive surprises- these words can describes Jens’ day at the Late Entry show in Grevenbroich yesterday.
Five year old Numero Uno jumped confidently through the course of the youngster A** and L classes and finished third in the A**- class. Also Callimero, a highly talented five year old son of Callistus, jumped fantastically well and showed free rounds in the youngster A** and L class. In the 1.20m class Uhorn, Full of Hope, as well as Lymley convinced with easy clear rounds. Jens didn’t get placements in the big starting fields, because he rode quiet and nice rounds instead of riding against the clock. Also in the 1.30m class all horses jumped very well.
Amazon Ricarda Tippkötter is truly proud on her mare "Aska". Last year they have had great successes in national and international classes up to 1.40m. This incredible development is the reason why Aska is official presented as an internationally successful daughter of top sire Acordelli. In the current stallion catalog of the stud Birkhof a picture of Aska and Ricarda is publicized on the presentation page of the top sire Acordelli. It’s stated that “his offspring are typey and uncomplicated horses with big movements and excellent show jumping qualities”. We- and especially Ricarda- can confirm this statement because of Aska’s daily performance. What an honour!
Laura and Titanium
Because of her impressive and consistent performances in the past season, our twelve year old daughter Laura was nominated for the "Rhenish Kentucky D-Squad 2013". Various victories and placings were celebrated with the established Titanium and the young mare Polly Pocket. The highly successful participations at the Rhenish Championships and the German Championship for Children have been the sportive highlights of the year 2012. Not only Laura is unbelievable proud for this nomination, we’re also incredibly proud of the young rider.
Moreover, the junior rider Pia-Marie Schröder and Daniela Theelen have been nominated for the “Rhenish Kentucky D-2013 squad”. Both riders were very successful in classes up to 1.40m on former horses of my stables last year and got the nomination because of their results.
Chiara by digishot.nl
At the traditional winter meeting of the show jumping board of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) the composition of the squads was one point on the agenda. We are very happy that “Chiara” and her rider Ludger Beerbaum have been nominated for the A-team in show jumping. A former auction horse of my stables belongs to the Champion squad of Germany- an amazing confirmation for our work in finding highly talented young horses!
Personality and Alena
Today we received a pleasant E-Mail from Russia: Alena, since the sport horse sales 2012 proud owner of "Personality", sent pictures of her first show with the gelding. The E-Mail consist of three sentences: "Hello from Personality! I'm really happy with him! Thank you a lot! ". We are very pleased that the five-year-old gelding had a safe trip to his new home and that his new owner is so happy and satisfied!
A positive feedback like this confirms us in doing our work and is a huge motivation to combine more rider and horse this year!

Tinka's Queen by Marx
Tinka’s Queen (auction horse 2011) dominated the youngster classes at the show in Keppeln.
The six year old mare was ridden by Christine in the usual brilliant style. The mare convinced all along with her exemplary riding and jumping qualities. For their performance in the 1.20m class for young horses they were scored with an 8.4 and placed first. Also in the 1.25m class for young horses Tinka’s Queen impressed the judges, got the score 8.5 and won the class.
Also Everybody's Darling (auction horse 2012) impressed everyone with her jumping abilities. Absolutely unimpressed by the colorful indoor the five year old mare jumped great and got placements in both 1.20m classes for young horses. Again warmest congratulations to the proud owners of the two mares.
In addition our intern Charlotte Bijker competed in Keppeln and finished second in a 1.15m style class with her gelding Aronjo. In addition, the pair got a placement in a 1.15m time class.
Sören Weissenborn was able to celebrate two successes: In the saddle of his mare Each Way Bet he was fourth in a 1.15m style class and got a placement in a 1.15m speed class.
In August I invite all interested riders to my next clinics: Single- as well as group lessons will be offered from 20th - 22nd August 2013 (Tuesday- Thursday) and from 23rd - 25th August 2013 (Friday- Sunday) at my stables in Goch (Germany). For foreign students, who are not able to bring their own horses(s), I offer the possibility to lease a horse for the clinic. Both the sand and the grass area and the large variety of jumps ensure that horses and riders can be perfectly prepared for coming outside- shows. Click here to find more information.
Christine and Jens presented the young horses on a national show in Barlo- Bocholt. Numero Uno, a five year old gelding named like his father, was scored with an 8.4 in a 1.10m youngster class and finished second. Everybody’s Darling, five year old mare which was sold at the auction 2012, became second in a 1.20m class for young horses. The daughter of Whitesnake got the score 8.2. Tinka’s Queen (auction horse 2011) was also judged with an 8.2 and got the second rank in a 1.20m class for young horses. Three times rank two- a great result!
Jens became third in a 1.35m class with Zaire and also with Franco. Both horses were clear and placed third. Laura competed also in Bocholt and showed very nice rounds. The junior rider and Bacardi were placed in a 1.20m style class.
Polly Pocket competed for the first time in a six- bars- competition, did a great job when jumping the demanding fences pretty cool, and got a placement in this class. The eight-year-Colman daughter Polly Pocket was first started in a jumping barriers and placed immediately in this premiere. I am also more than satisfied with the performance of Cheer, which once again jumped all courses with the highest concentration and presented their striking willingness. In addition to a placement in a 1.40 m class Cheer finished seventh in the Grand Prix of Lübzer!
In recent weeks and months most of the horses at my stables have had a well-deserved break from shows, most of the youngsters even since autumn. This doesn’t mean that the stable is closed, quite the contrary is going on: The young horses are enjoying well thought out training exercises with a lot of gym work They are all highly motivated present themselves in a good mood during the daily changing training. The skills and strengths of the horses will be developed individual and the rideability will be improved. Everything is carried out with a lot of fun for rider and horse, so it is not boring, even it is work.
The experienced show horses were "kept happy", what means light work under saddle, relaxed walking on the lunge or free running in the hall, it is important that the athletes are happy, because that’s the only way to show good performances. Our first shows are already in January, the horses are in top form and the rider can not wait to present the horses to the publicity.

On the last day in 2012 I had a personal challenge with my participation at the 25th “Pfalzdorfer Sylvesterlauf”, an endurance run.
Again a lot of interested and enthusiast people came to the small town Goch to support the athletes loudly. I was also supported by our stables team; they brought a self-made poster, which was an additional incentive for a good performance. More than 2.200 runners were at the start and it was really fun to complete the route with so many enthusiast people. I’m very satisfied with my time on the 5 km distance and have put myself a personal goal for the run 2013. Let’s go!
