18. PEEK A BOO
Beautifully built Peek A Boo has wonderful manners and a wonderful jump. Not only is the grey gelding extremely responsive to the rider’s aids, he’s also a very comfortable horse to ride with an even canter and uniform jump. This rhythmic stride in the ring, combined with an outstanding jumping technique and charismatic presence, never fail to impress the rider.
The origin of Peek A Boo’s talent and quality as a jumping horse is documented in his interesting pedigree. His sire Lucky Boy (Lavall II x Calypso I x Marlon) was one of Markus Ehning’s top horses for international 1.60m classes and he passes on his qualities to his progeny.
His dam, Oldriana, also produced Ora del Te di Ca San Giorgio, Andrew Kocher’s Grand Prix horse in the USA. The dam’s sire Contender is one of the Holstein Association’s most popular breeding stallions. Contender’s remarkable ability to sire top class competition horses is partly due to the special genes of Calypso II and partly due to the special genes of Ramiro Z. Contender has given international show jumping a whole series of first-rate horses, including Montender (Marco Kutscher), Checkmate (Meredith Michaels Beerbaum), Collin (Toni Hassmann), Controe (Marco Kutscher), Constantin (Marcus Beerbaum) and Chellano Z (Jos Lansink).
The Anglo-Norman stallion Almé Z is a phenomenal horse that has influenced warmblood breeding throughout Germany. Almé Z competed at international level with François Mathy and Johan Heins and he passes on the very best performance genes to his offspring. Many, such as Galoubet, I Love You and Jalisco, are licensed stallions that have also made their mark on the show jumping scene.
Peek a Boo is an experienced competition horse with placings in national classes up to 1.35m. Even at international shows he’s impressed the expert public with his sensational performances. His future career looks rosy after three international youngster tour wins and 22 international placings in 1.35m classes. Peek a Boo is ready for the big classes next season.
A top horse for top-level show jumping.
