Sport horse sales 2006
This time the auction was more professionally organised and it took place in the indoor school. It was attended by around 500 guests and potential buyers, including world champion Jos Lansink, Olympic gold medal winner Ulrich Kirchhoff, 1986 world champion Gail Greenough and leading German rider Kathi Offel. A collection of 15 premium show jumping horses, plus a foal with a very interesting pedigree, attracted riders from all over the world. Although some of the horses were sold to German buyers, others went to the USA, Italy, Mexico, France, Poland and Russia. The average price paid was approx. EUR 66,000.
“The auction was just as successful as last year’s, and we’re going to make sure it’s a firm fixture for top show jumping riders,” said Holger Hetzel, and he set about turning the auction into a festive event.
