Some horses benefit from less exposure to a competition environment when they’re young. Although Flieger is already eight, he’s only had a few competition outings. For eight months now he’s been making spectacular progress in the capable hands of the Hetzel team. In fact, he’s come on so well that he‘s the insider tip in this year’s collection.

Flieger has an abundance of the most important attribute a show jumper can have: scope. It’s the foundation for his development into a very promising sport horse.

When you check out his pedigree it’s obvious where he got his outstanding abilities from because he's descended from one of Paul Schockemöhle's best lines.

It includes elite stallions Diarado, Chacco Blue, Landgold and Domino, as well as great granddam Akelei Z – full sister to team Olympic gold medal winner Askan 4 with Gerd Wiltfang. Akelei Z contributes the excellent genes of the famous Hanoverian dam line 33/ Agenda (by Agram-Alex etc.), which produced 31 licensed stallions, including Askan and Gaston, and several international show jumpers such as Don Ramiro (Hugo Simon/AUT).
