Europe’s best young show jumping horses meet in Goch

What began as a bold idea in 2022 has since established itself as a top international event for the best young show jumping horses. The Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters, held at Holger Hetzel’s renowned equestrian center in Goch, Germany, has quickly become a fixture on the international calendar for elite five- to eight-year-old show jumpers. This year, the event will take place from July 24 to 27 and promises several exciting innovations.

The prize money for the final of the seven- and eight-year-old horses has been increased to an impressive €100,000. Finalists in the six-year-old category can look forward to a prize pot of €50,000, while €25,000 will be awarded in the final for five-year-olds. To offer riders of young horses an additional opportunity to compete, a new S-level tour for older horses will be added to the existing program.

The proven concept of the Masters remains unchanged: two clear rounds over courses designed by Frank Rothenberger qualify horses for the respective finals. Horses from all international breeding associations are eligible to compete—no prior qualification is required. A maximum of 100 horses may be entered per tour.

But it's not just the riders and their horses who can look forward to exciting innovations at the Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters 2025. Visitors can expect an expanded exhibition area, adding even more atmosphere to the event. In addition to the Welcome Evening for participants and guests, Saturday night will once again feature the renowned Flanders Foal Auction, offering future stars with top European show jumping pedigrees.Another highlight is the gourmet hospitality area, serving high-quality culinary delights. And for the youngest visitors, the children’s paradise ensures plenty of entertainment and fun throughout the event.

New to the supporting program is the "Arena Cup" hosted by Polo Park Heisterfeldshof. Four international polo teams with arena handicaps ranging from four to six will compete on the large sand arena of the equestrian center. Two matches will be played each day—on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Host Holger Hetzel is also looking forward to the event: “We’ve all been eagerly anticipating the Young Horse Masters for months—our entire team is working with full commitment. Our goal is to ensure that all participants, visitors, and horses feel welcome and well looked after, and that, in the end, the best young show jumpers in each age group come out on top.”
