Hetzel Highlights 2026 – Dates, Competitions, Auction

The annual schedule at Hetzel Horses in Goch, in Germany’s Rhineland region, is set. It begins in April with a show jumping clinic and the Hetzel Spring Masters, continues with the Hetzel Young Horse Masters, and culminates in November with the 21st Sport Horse Sales. The idyllic town of Goch, located close to the German–Dutch border, has become one of the most remarkable venues for equestrian sport, auction activity, and carefully designed concepts. All of this contributes positively not only to the sport in Germany, but beyond.

The Hetzel Spring Masters – A Classic

Every spring, highly sought-after training clinics are held at the facility of the former Nations Cup rider. The clinic scheduled from April 17–19 was fully booked within just a few days. Only shortly afterwards, the Hetzel Spring Masters takes place.

This spring show has long since become a classic: a well-endowed national competition featuring thoughtfully structured classes up to 1.50m level, offering ideal conditions for both experienced riders and ambitious combinations.

The Hetzel Spring Masters regularly attracts international guests. Above all, however, it is a much-loved event for the region, for families, equestrian enthusiasts, and curious visitors alike. The program is deliberately open and diverse and that may even include a game of polo, because equestrian sport encompasses far more than the three Olympic disciplines.

Young Horses in the Spotlight

The Tiemeyer & Hetzel Young Horse Masters in July is Germany’s highest-endowed competition for young horses – five- to eight-year-old sport horses. The program is consistently focused on these rising stars and offers, under impeccable conditions, a festival with total prize money of €200,000.

It is also an occasion to welcome back former auction horses, such as Dante MM (Alain Jufer) or Crazy EP (M. Tebbel), who have since successfully continued their sporting careers.

The Auction

On November 25, the 21st Holger Hetzel Show Jumping Horse Auction will take place. Recognizing quality, developing talent, and identifying the perfect match between horse and rider are the hallmarks of this auction. In November 2025, the auction featured a collection in which every single horse achieved a six-figure price – topped by the seven-year-old highlight Dior, who realized €1 million.

Outstanding horses such as Maikel van der Vleuten’s Olympic medal winner Beauville Z N.O.P. have emerged from this auction. The Holger Hetzel Show Jumping Horse Auction has earned an excellent worldwide reputation, not only for its carefully selected, high-quality horses, but also for its comprehensive service and support that extend well beyond the auction day itself.
