Johanna Hell secures furth pace at the German Youth Championships
This past weekend, the German Youth Championships (DJM) took place on the historic showgrounds in Aachen, and the event could hardly have been more impressive for the young riders. Thanks to excellent organization and the unique atmosphere, the competitors could truly feel the spirit of the CHIO. A championship-worthy event – and we are very grateful to have celebrated such successful results with our students.
Our student Johanna Hell, riding her mare Copacabana, once again proved to be in top form and impressed with outstanding performances throughout the week. In the first qualifier, an1.20m class, the pair delivered a confident clear round, finishing 11th. They stayed faultless again in the second qualifier and went into the final, a demanding 1.35m class with two rounds, highly motivated. With just a tiny, slightly frustrating time fault, Johanna and Copacabana narrowly missed the podium, finishing in an excellent 4th place – a fantastic achievement and a testament to their consistency and class.
A special thank you goes to Christine, who has been guiding Johanna with exceptional training and management. With her dedication, expertise, and attention to detail, she once again proved what an outstanding trainer she is.
Also, Ava Ferch had a highly successful debut at the DJM. Competing in the Junior division with Elvic v/h Hoeve-Terras Z, the talented young rider delivered consistently strong rounds. She placed in both the first qualifier, a challenging 1.40m class, and the second qualifier, another demanding course. In the final, a technically difficult 1.45m class with two rounds, Ava and Elvic finished 7th and secured an excellent 7th place overall in the championship standings.
Congratulations to you both, Johanna and Ava, as well as to your families and teams! And a special shout-out to all Rhineland riders for their outstanding results – especially to the new German Junior Champion, Jörg Leon Zahn!
