"Youngster of the Year" – new special ranking for the best up-and-coming horses

An exciting new feature awaits riders, breeders, and owners at the Al Shira’aa Bundeschampionate, taking place from 2 to 7 September 2025 in Warendorf, Westphalia:
For the first time, the most successful show jumping horses from our Young Horse Masters and the Bundeschampionate will have the chance to win the prestigious title of “Youngster of the Year” – along with attractive prize money.

As part of this new special ranking, the results of the horses in the respective final competitions at both events will be combined. The horse with the highest overall score in its age group will be named “Youngster of the Year.”

Outstanding performances will be rewarded with generous prize money:

  • €2,500 for the best five-year-old show jumper

  • €5,000 for the best six-year-old show jumper

  • €7,500 for the best seven-year-old show jumper

For the five-year-old show jumpers, all three top-placed horses from the Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters are already qualified for the Bundeschampionat and thus have a shot at the special award:

  • Arcassio (by Alaba), ridden by Jana Fink

  • Crismo (by Cornet Obolensky), ridden by Desiree Kemper

  • Clarella (by Clarimo), ridden by Laurens

  •

In the six-year-old age group, Complication (by Casco Bravo) enters the race as the frontrunner with our rider Laurens. The pair delivered an impressive victory at the Young Horse Masters and is also qualified for the Bundeschampionat.

We were especially pleased to welcome Dr. Klaus Miesner (Managing Director of the FN Sports Department) and Markus Scharmann (Head of the DOKR Performance Centre in Warendorf), who were on site in person over the weekend and took the opportunity to present the project once again in detail during an interview with Carsten Sostmeier.
