The winners were delighted –and so was Holger Hetzel: “I’m absolutely thrilled with the quality of the horses.” The event’s initiator was equally pleased that many of the sport’s leading stables enthusiastically accepted the invitation to compete.

Everyone knows that Katrin Eckermann is one of the fastest riders in the sport, and her talent for producing young horses is equally well established.

With the final for the six-year-old show jumping horses, the Young Horse Masters, the world's richest show for young jumping horses, held at Holger Hetzel's equestrian centre in Goch, celebrated its first major sporting highlight on Saturday.

He may not be able to perform magic or fly, but he certainly knows what he wants: European Champion Richard Vogel won the qualification for the five-year-old final at the Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters in Goch with the stallion Maroon.
